  1. I will agree with you about facial expressions. Solid. I don't see any scenery though. I see a loooooot of blank space. Anyway, didn't mean to be a sh disturber. I just had too much to drink last night.
  2. Style is a matter of preference. I would disagree with you that Adlard shows more emotion. But I can completely understand if Moore seems too cartoony. That is a matter of preference. However, where I think Moore shows his superiority is the backgrounds. The details and facial expressions are more fleshed out and it adds a lot to the book. The last page I bought off spalshpageart was around issue 90. It was horrible and I sold it immediately. Some of the older stuff (issue 15-28) was good but even back then it was "hit or miss". Here are some examples of backgrounds... and background characters facial expressions. Some people like Kirby and some don't. All opinions are valid. But you can't deny that Kirby put a lot of time and effort into his work. Same with Moore. I really question Adlards efforts.
  3. How can you say such an absolute statement on something so objective? C'mon, man... Do you mean "subjective"? I can be very absolute because I feel that the market agrees with me. Try buying a Tony Moore commission on the secondary market compared to an Adlard commission. You will pay more for Moore. Why? He doesn't compose images with thick sharpie smudges like Adlard. He draws line more confidently with pen and ink and fleshes out more detail and emotions. I don't think I have ever mistaken characters when Moore draws them. When Adlard draws people, I often don't know if it is Maggie or Glenn. Wait! Was that Michonne or Carl? I do appreciate what Adlard has done by getting the book out on time. But when you make excuses for his terrible art, he has no incentive to improve. Early on, he would flesh out characters and backgrounds and put some effort into the drawings. Now it is obvious he is cutting corners and resting on his laurels. Even is his heyday, he didn't approach the level of artistic ability that Moore displays.
  4. But artistically speaking, Adlard is vastly inferior.
  5. She is fing crazy. Sorry but I would rather spend a grand on OA from Adlard at this point then on a single commission from Moore. Understandable but any OA from Moore is bound to be better than Adlard OA. If TWD wasn't so crazy, Adlard art wouldn't be more than 125 bucks. He has been pretty awful as of late.
  6. I thought Rick and Co were the walking dead? WE ARE THE WALKING DEAD!!!!! Zombie pages didn't hold much interest to me. I was more into memorable moments.
  7. Usually if there is a "make an offer", the owner is willing to negotiate. Like I said, I don't know what the price would be but it isn't too unrealistic. I am figuring a 20% discount. $6400ish? Not sure though. I'd rather have a kick Moore panel page than 80% of the Adlard covers out there. Adlard kick covers are few and far between but would probably be more desirable than this piece. I just don't know if you can get one of the best covers for less than 10k nowadays.
  8. It is a pretty sweet page. Lot of details and art packed into it. That's what I love about a lot of TM's pages. Lots of art per square inch. I'm not sure what the price would need to be but it's not unrealistic.
  9. Not picking on you, but I meant to ask this earlier and forgot. For people that thought the episode sucked, what would have made it "great"? Andrea not taking her sweet time trying to escape. It can be jarring how stupid the twd characters can be. Milton is about to turn into a zombie but Andrea just sits back and chats with him. Merle sets off a car alarm and doesn't think to look for zombies who might be atracted to noise. These things keep TWD from being great. It happens too often. One great thing about TWD's finale was Herschel ratting out Carl. I hate Herschel for that more than I hate the governor. If Herschel would have been the grown up in the group, he would have taken charge when the kid didn't drop the gun. He should have commanded the kid to stop. That kid from Woodbury was much bigger than Carl and could have taken him hostage. He left Carl no choice but to shoot. When he went complaining to Rick, I wanted to see him die a horrible and gruesome death. May hatred for Herschel is what will keep me interested in the show.
  10. The governor just told Andrea that he wanted her to be leader. He wouldn't then ask her to follow him to the prison. Seriously, this conversation is almost comical. No way it is Andea. If someone comes on here expressing their dislike of the show, the het run off. At least the are contributing something substantive. This is just mindless drivel.
  11. I do think The Walking Dead has deteriorated at an alarming rate but thise first 50 or so issues were terrific. TWD is THE modern book. I think it will stand alone as king of this age. For that reason alone, OA will be sought after. Personally, I wouldn't buy a page after 48. I'm very particular about what I would buy nowadays. I think Tony Moore pages will always be in demand and some of Adlard's. However, a lot of what is being published now doesn't appeal to me so I have a hard time believing it will hold it's value. However, I think discounting TWD's effect on pulp culture and its effecg on the current comic collecting community is a mistake.
  12. Most pages from 1 or 2 dont have the stains. I think the value of the TM art that recently sold was hurt because it was in two pieces. I dont think it was helped. Both pieces by themselves look incomplete.
  13. It's on CAF: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=972089&GSub=139927 Judging by the gallery and his sign-up date, buyer appears to be a newbie. Will be interesting to see what else he adds to his collection. Indeed...it appears the Nowell Bros. have some competition: http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=94540 I wouldn't go that far! Great stuff though.
  14. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, it's because he called Nexus a ? Yeah, that probably has something to do with it.
  15. Awww.. I loved how he drew Lori. Kinda plain jane and refreshing.
  16. Now I am really confused. The guy who owns the cover to 27 is an insufficiently_thoughtful_person for not selling it. However, you'd rather have a 150 dollar piece than the cover to 40 which is worth thousands. What does that make you? To recap: I don't believe Mark is detrimental to OA no matter how he chooses to sell art. I don't believe you should call out someone's art as especially when you aren't open to the same criticism. I don't believe the guy is an insufficiently_thoughtful_person for keeping the cover to 27. Are these views really that far-fetched? Because we disagree on these points, it doesn't mean I hate you. I just choose to disagree. I am confused by you but I definitely don't hate.
  17. I definitely don't have a vendetta against you. I speak out less about you than you do about Mark. Do you have a vendetta against him? Here is my thought process. You posted that Mark's pricing structure was bad for the OA market in general when the 106 cover came up for sale.. I vehemently disagreed. I expressed those thoughts and I pointed out how your pricing structure was open for criticism as well. When you posted that the cover to 40 was , I think I held my tongue even though I thought it was in poor taste. Seriously, that cover was better than 99 percent of the stuff you post here as "eye porn" and yet you felt the need to disparage it. I literally laughed out loud at Felix's response though. And here you are again berating Mark and I just decided to chime in again. Actually, now that I think about it, I only speak out against you when you seem to be critical of others.
