  1. This can be sent in as a mechanical error under label defect. Unfortunately, the OSF will not sent a prepaid shipping label to customers outside of the US. If you PM me your submission number, customer id number, and full name and address, I can get you a prepaid shipping label. The label will be fixed and sent back to you at no charge.
  2. Wow. I remember being laughed at for paying $3600 for a first wrap of Action 1 with off white pages around 2008. It was the only first wrap of Action 1 that I have ever seen offered for sale. I sold it in 2013 for about 3 times as much.
  3. Hi Welcome to the forum. No, you do not need to supply a box or any other packaging supplies for your return shipment of slabs. Mike
  4. I'm not dishing out any points. I trust that this will be the last time I see a conflict between you two. Otherwise, there will be posting restrictions for one or both.
  5. We do not let submissions out the door until the fees are paid in full. If there is a balance due, a shipping hold is placed on the submission. I do not know why he received that invoice but, I do know he does not owe us any money.
  6. Hi I believe your only option would be to send the book in to us as a reholder. Mike
  7. Are you guys working on John Byrne?? LOL
  8. The census has been updated. You can now send this back as a Mechanical Error. Fill out a submission form by selecting the Mechanical Error (label Defect) option. Be sure to write on the package slip the exact problem. Also write Approved by CGC Mike on the chat forum. We will fix this and ship it back to you. If you have any more problems with this, please let me know.
  9. Pulp pedigrees CGC recognizes two pedigree collections centric to pulps: Strasser and Yakima. The Strasser collection was found stacked on shelves in the basement of a farmhouse in Ohio in the late 1980s. The collection numbered nearly 2,000 pulps, encompassing issues published between 1933 and 1939, and was very high grade with white paper. A code containing the letter A, D or C (and sometimes the name “Robert Strasser”) was written in fountain pen on each cover, usually in the logo. Many popular titles were present in the collection, including Shadow, Doc Savage, Spider, Operator 5, Wu Fang, Yen Sin, Pete Rice, Phantom Detective and Argosy. They were sold piecemeal at pulp conventions in subsequent years. "Secret Agent X" and "Popular Detective" pulps from the Strasser pedigree. Click images to enlarge. The Yakima collection surfaced in Yakima, Washington, in the late 1990s, containing mostly science fiction pulps between 1939 and 1953, which were stored in wooden boxes in a basement. The collection also included many pre-1939 pulps in lower grade, but those from 1939 on were unread copies with deep ink, full gloss and white pages. Dave Smith purchased most of the Yakimas and included certificates with each copy as he sold them. Full runs of Amazing Stories, Startling Stories, Thrilling Wonder Stories, Planet Stories, Fantastic Adventures, Astounding and Doc Savage were present in the Yakima collection. A Yakima pedigree certificate and images of the Yakima storage upon discovery. Click images to enlarge. Several comic book pedigree collections also contained pulps, including Edgar Church/Mile High, Bethlehem and White Mountain. Pulps identified as originating from a comic book pedigree collection, as well as from the Strasser and Yakima collections, will receive the CGC pedigree label if in unrestored condition.

  16. Glad to hear it. Thank you for doing this.
  17. thank you and can provide more photos if needed. Hi @Changer I am sending you a PM right now regarding your book. I apologize for it taking so long for you to get answers for your concerns.
  18. I understand your concerns, Steve. This is something I will gladly revisit at some point later on in the year. Right now, there is just too much on everyone's plate. Sorry.
  19. I believe both books got dinged. However, the 9.0 with 2 pieces of tape would have got a much lower grade if it did not come with a free, taped on gift that was removed, leaving either tape, tape stain or both. The same can be said about the second book. Blue label books that did not get manufactured with tape and/or tape stains get dinged worse as a rule. These are both examples of the grading curve for free taped on gifts.
  20. Thanks for the images. That is part of the grading curve that was created. Looking at the OP's images, the book would not have been given a 9.0 with those 2 pieces of tape on the cover. The same can be said with your book. Had it been a book that did not contain a "free gift", it would not likely been given a 7.0 with the heavy tape stain on the cover. This is the part of the teams statement regarding this: "We would not be able to encapsulate the book with the item attached, so a “grading curve” was created for the book that excludes the item, since every one we grade will not contain it". I hope this helps, Mike
