  1. Hello @Wayne Still,

I can appreciate that the aesthetics of the holder are very important to collectors, and I understand that cards in sleeves do not present as crisp and clear as cards without sleeves. The sleeves are used for the card's safety, and the card must be inside the sleeve for this added protection. We are always looking for ways to improve processes and meet our customer's needs, so your feedback is important, and I will gladly share it with our management team. I am not aware of any new holder sizes in development at this time. Should we consider new options in the future, CSG will focus on how we can best meet customer needs and keep offering great rates for grading.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback. If you need any additional help, please let us know.

  2. Hello @Kent Anker Glopholm

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are making upgrades to our internal systems. Certain CSG website features will be temporarily unavailable to facilitate these upgrades for two to three weeks, beginning on February 18, 2023.

Submissions received at CSG on or after February 18 will not appear on the submission tracking page until March 7, 2023. In addition, credit card payments will not be processed during part of this upgrade period, from February 28 until March 7, 2023.

During this time, submitters can check to see if a submission has been delivered to CSG using the Confirm Package Delivery tool.

While submission tracking and credit card payments will be temporarily affected, submitters will experience little to no impact on submission turnaround times. CSG workflows will be unchanged, and over time these upgrades will enable even faster turnaround times, a better billing and payment experience, and other improvements.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience during the upgrade period. If you need any additional help, please let us know.

  3. Hello @Redtailfoxx

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand the concern about any risk of losing your Signature Series certification! As long as your Signature Series certified book is submitted in its intact CGC holder, it will retain the Signature Series certification for the previous signing. When the book is submitted to an additional signing event, we will crack out the book and prepare it for the signing (window bag and board) for you for an additional $5.00 crack-out fee.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Have a great "existential dread free" day!

  4. Hello @Joel0109

Thank you for reporting this issue. While not common, and while we work hard to keep labels accurate, human error may result in the wrong version of a book being chosen. We are actively working toward implementing technology to reduce this type of error in the future. I have reported this issue so that the book details can be updated on the certification page.

Since you are not the book's current owner, we cannot work with you to correct the label. However, we can update the online details to ensure that anyone checking the verification sees the correct information.

I apologize for the delayed response.

  5. Hello @Casual Collector

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, we are unable to add or change services once an order has been shipped to us for processing. If you choose, you can resubmit the books for pressing and regrading at a later date. As long as the books' holders are intact when resubmitted, they will retain their Signature Series label and certification.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Regards,

  6. Hello @Justin Petty

Thank you for contacting us. CGC Trading cards does not grade magazines, sports cards or sheets of sports cards. CSG Sports Cards, another Certified Collectibles group company, does grade individual sports cards, but does not grade sheets of sports cards. Finally, CGC Comics can authenticate individual comics or magazine pages in some cases, but does not provide a numeric grade for pages. The final determination regarding whether a page is eligible for authentication and encapsulation is at the discretion of the graders.

I am sorry but I am not be able to provide any guidance regarding the value of the card as a part of the page, full magazine or cut from the page. We do not appraise the monetary or resale value of collectibles.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  7. Hello @Carston's Cards

Thank you for contacting us. Your submission total will include any grading fees, processing fee, shipping fees and fees for any add-on services such as Error service. Pedigree Service and Imaging Services. Tax is not added.

Please keep in mind that the submission grading fees may be adjusted should a card(s) be undervalued and/or submitted to a tier that it does not qualify for.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  8. Hello @RLL,

Thank you for your question. Artist proof cards that are signed and sketched will receive a green label, as the signatures and sketched are not witnessed by CGC. Artist proof cards that are left blank, not sketched or signed, will receive a blue label.

The Marvel card you have pictured is a pack pulled Marvel Metal Universe artist proof/sketch card and therefore guaranteed by the card distributor. For this reason, the card is eligible for the blue label.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Regards,

  9. Hello @BoredJay305

Thank you for reaching out. I was able to enter the card and display the certification details without issue. Can you please double check that you are entering the number accurately without punctuation or spaces, and try again? Also be sure to use the verification page for CGC Trading Cards and not CGC Comics.  Verify Trading Card Certification | Look Up a CGC Certification Number | CGC (cgccards.com).

If you continue to have issues, let me know.

  10. Hello @NameJay,

Thank you for reaching out! Garbage Pail Kids cards are not currently eligible for grading. While we have been expanding the list of cards we grade, I do not have any news about these cards being added for the near future.

You can view a list of the cards that we do grade here: Cards We Grade | Trading Card Grading | CGC (cgccards.com)

If there is anything else we can help with, let us know!

  11. Hello @dustinjohns

Thank you for reaching out to us. The description and details for each card are provided at the discretion of the grading team. To maintain consistent labeling for cards of the same type, we do not accept requests to edit or adjust the information, however the grading team does consider the aesthetic of the card and the amount of room available on each the card labels when determining card descriptions. This card does not yet appear in our population report, so the card will be added by the graders at the time of grading.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Regards,

  12. Hello @Billyscards

Thank you for reaching out to us. When a card is either of a size CSG currently does not grade or is an issue that is obscure and not eligible for grading, it may be returned as “Service Unavailable.” Regarding the size of the card, even a few millimeters can affect our ability to encapsulate the card safely. Small manufacturing differences may cause an individual card to be returned as "SU," even when that card type can normally be encapsulated. When a card is returned "SU" the submitter is not charged the grading fee.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. Have a good day!

  13. Hello @Parzival

Thank you for sharing a photo of the card. While I love it, unfortunately, it would not be eligible for grading. We grade the following Pokémon cards:

    • Pokémon (1996 - Present): All standard-sized Pokémon TCG cards are eligible to be graded.
    • Pokémon Carddass (1996 - 1997): All small-sized Pokémon Carddass cards are eligible to be graded.
    • Pokémon Sealdass (1998): All Pokémon Bandai Sealdass stickers are eligible to be graded.
    • Pokémon Topps (1999 - 2004): All standard-sized Pokémon Topps cards are eligible to be graded.
    • Pokémon Topsun (1997 - 1998): All cards made before 1999 that have original green or blue backing are eligible to be graded.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Have a great day!

  14. Hello @Dave Kristan

I hope you are having a great day! Thank you for reaching out and sharing the photo of your card. To confirm if your card will qualify for an error designation, the card needs to be evaluated by the graders. If you would like your card to be evaluated for error designation, be sure to choose the Error service in addition to grading on the online submission form.

You can read more about the error types that can receive error designations in our Error Guide: CGC Trading Cards Error Guide | CGC (cgccards.com)

    Status: Scheduled for Grading
    Received: 10/12/22

    Hello @MapleCrest

Thank you for your patience while we work on completing your card submission. This submission has not been signed yet.

We have another round of signing scheduled soon! We know how excited everyone is to get their signed cards back, and we are working to complete the remaining orders as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Take care!

  16. Hello @cannal,

Thank you for contacting us. We discourage overestimating the declared value of your items. If you overestimate the value, your items will not be bumped to a lower grading tier and in the event of loss, you will not be reimbursed more than the fair market value of the collectible.

You are welcome to choose a higher grading tier if you are looking for a faster turnaround time. However, we would not suggest choosing a higher tier in order to select a higher declared value if it is not appropriate for your item.

You can view all grading tiers, fees and turnaround times here: CGC Services & Fees | CGC (cgccomics.com).

    Have a great day!

  17. Hello @Zachary DeFrang

Thank you for reaching out to us. Our calendar of confirmed events is currently updated through April, so I cannot confirm 2023 Collect-A-Con. I suggest keeping an eye on the events page: Events | CGC (cgccomics.com). Also, keep in mind that if the CGC Comics team or the CGC Signature Series team is not onsite, there are often CGC Authorized Facilitators onsite.

If you have any other questions, please let us know. Have a good day!

  18. Hello @Guitar Hero

Great question. Yes, you can add a pedigree to ReHolder service. First, choose ReHolder as your primary service, choose your tier and then enter your card's certification number on the "Add Trading Card" page. Once your card is entered, you will be able to check the pedigree check box and then enter your pedigree text.

    Hi,

I'm confused on the specifics of the "membership dues". Will the refunded dues include the unused credit of $150 for premium members? I haven't used those credits yet since my membership renewed and would like to cancel it. Thanks in advance.

    Cameron

    Hello @Cameron Smith

Thank you for your question. I reviewed your membership, and I see that it was upgraded about 4 months ago. The window to cancel the account has passed so the account is not eligible for a refund. I confirmed that autorenewal has been turned off so you will not be charged for a new year of membership when your current membership expires.

In regard to your initial question, when a Premium or Elite membership is cancelled within 30 days, only the membership fees are refunded. The grading credit will be removed from the account when it is downgraded to a free account.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

@CGC Mike @MattM CS Hey guys. I have recently seen a ebay listing for a metal charizard graded by cgc with a different style of encapsulation. The cert number is 4045946006. Does this mean that the celebrations metal cards are being graded or is this an internal employee that had their cards graded for internal purposes and is now selling them?

    Hello @Russell Herman

Thank you for reaching out to us. We thank you and all our customers for your patience as we continue to work towards the launch of new holders for the metal cards. We will have an announcement in the coming weeks regarding the new holders for metal cards. We are in the final stages of testing and this card was part of a submission that was included in this testing.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  21. Hello @Ericbender

Great question. CSG does not currently have an app. However, if you use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code on the reverse label, you will get a direct link to your card's certification page.
