Behold the rarest piece you're likely to see posted here. A heritage auction lot that sold at the starting bid price! It's the logo design for the Doctor Fate series from the late 80s to the early 90s that was a continuation of the 4-issue mini-series. They're both a great read and suggest you give them a read. It was used for the first 24 issues before being changed to the later logo design which lasted to the end of the series at issue #41. Put a dollar watch bid on it since I thought it was interesting and ended up winning it.
You might consider reaching out to Todd Klein to see if he knows the designer. Todd is active on Facebook

Re: Can anyone offer a suggestion
Yes, if you have an iPhone, do this when you need to photograph art and can’t scan it.
- Start Notes
- Create a new note
- Click on the camera icon
- Choose “Scan document”
-
Touch the button once it is framed.
Notes scanner will square the image and do some light balancing. It’s almost as good as a scanner.

Evrery thing I know can be found in the "hidden text" in the first post on the thread called Pricing Comic Art - 2023 Edition. I strongly advise two actions:
- Ignore the offers you get through the direct messages supported by this board.
- Read the advice on that thread especially the part that suggests learning about the market.
Happy to take questions, accept comments, and listen to concerns.

That sounds like the owner had a serious beef with Jack Cole. Destroying an obvious future revenue source? That kind of decision making is usually instigated by a serious dislike for someone on a personal level.
It wasn't just Jack, it was all of Quality's output. Very stupid in my opinion.
-
The story goes that the owner of Quality Comics cut up Jack Cole's Plastic Man are to prevent others from reprinting it.
Seemed an odd thing to do since that thought implies that there was a market for reprints and one would assume a good business man would want that market. Never the less, it was all destroyed. -
Added Anthony Isaza's Split Face collection has now joined the list. The premise is to show a two characters in one bust. Some interesting pairings. Check it out!

I wonder if it's worthwhile to go to San Diego, skip trying to get into the con, but attend this dinner? Something to ponder...
I was in LA on business during SDCC a number of year ago and heard about the dinner. I drove down for it got there early enough to wander around bit near the convention center as the artists were leaving and got to see some friends. Then walked to the dinner a saw a few I knew and met more that I had not met before including Brian.
I thought it was well worth the drive (and the stop going on I5 by Customs and Immigration). -

Added Jason D'Ambrosio's - Jason's Quest. He's building a collection of art from every artist that worked on his favorite series. Wow!

I can no longer edit the list. The new thread is The Themed Art Collections Thread - 2023 Edition.

Jay, do you have the art in a CAF gallery? I'd like to add it to "The Themed Comic Art Thread." It's a terrific example of a theme.

You can get an all-in-one scanner/printer/fax for less than $250.
I use an Epson WF-7710 that cost me $180 + tax on sale at Office Depot. -
Yep, it’s a tough nut and there aren’t a lot of data points.
-
@Bronty suggested that the range could be from 3% to 20% with perhaps 5% being a median.
Any more input?

I haven't added pre-lim pricing to my Pricing Comic Art thread.
Does 3% really seem like a good metric? I bought the prelims for some of my commissions after the death of the artist for about 20%. Click image to embiggen.
I wonder if the % varies with artist, type (cover, panel page), material? Thoughts?

You should put on on Comic Art Tracker as well.
