I remember following the drama in real time, and to me the art is infamous.
I don't think the commissioner sold it on ebay, maybe that was a third party

Bloodshot movie coming out next year. Plus, ex-Valiant chief is buying up art, and there's a longtime first appearance collector in the hobby...would not be at all surprised if those two duked it out for this cover and if it would otherwise have sold for, say, half to 2/3rds of where it did.
What's crazy to me, is that just two years ago, it sold for 22.7.
I don't think it would have sold for less, this time around.

Mignola Hellboy (especially covers)>BPRD, etc. come immediately to mind....
Yeah, his recent cover to Berserker 1 (not Hellboy or BPRD) sold for less than $2,000, on ebay. These two also come to mind
Marshall Rogers Detective Comics > Dr Strange > Silver Surfer
Kelley Jones Sandman (though he didn't do the covers) > Batman > Magneto (random marvel comic) -

i didn't read all this. I guess Ditko's brother is figuring the time is now.
Which Ditko pieces came from the family, just the 2011 complete story?

A small example is that Heritage sold the Joker/Batman interiors from the above Power Records story, for 2-4 thousand (even i was able to afford one with Joker ).
As for 251, even pages with little to no Batman sell for 4x that.

Hi
Mike brought some published and unpublished 11x17 art to sell last month, at the Lightbox expo.
If anyone happened to get prices and pics, I’d love to know what he had available at the show
Thanks in advance! (...feel free to PM if you prefer)

I missed the boat, didn’t realize that the JSC art was simultaneously for sale online, when the gallery opened last night
Did anyone happen to capture all of the 120 pieces that were available?
Also does anyone have photos from the Gallery reception, held Friday night?

I was going to make that point on Kane as well - his prelims are not tight like Bolland or some others
But Kane prelims are full size, while Bolland prelims are quite small, not even 8.5 x 11 inch.

Back when Adam Hughes did sketch cards, I believe the rate was practically the same

At the time (before reading NF) I would have said that Batman should have been more prominent. But now, I just love it!
Is it published?

I think Tim's process has kept much of his art prices tempered compared to some of his peers.
....
I think the same could be said of Darrow as well. Different process entirely, but their unique art processes definitely seem to factor into the pricing of much of their work. Even the "top shelf" pieces.Hi,
Can you explain what makes their creative processes so unique?

Amazing Catwoman!
So he literally can’t do commissions on boards? Damn

I've had good experiences with him too. But if he's busy at conventions, his responses maybe slow.
If there's a concern, you can always call him (the number is listed on Romitaman.com). But he's usually pretty good about shipping items out quickly.

(1) On which artist have you spent the most money to date?
For me, it's Marshall Rogers. One 70's piece skews my collection
(2) In your collection, which artist's works have the most combined value (when assessed objectively)?
Darwyn Cooke & Mike Mignola. But I have many more Budd Root pages/sketches, that could challenge those guys.

Great piece! I wager this is from his “new” Cooke Watchmen stuff. As someone who’s been checking Cooke pieces regularly for the last few months I’ve never seen this pop up on Moy’s website. Very cool.
If you don’t mind me asking, how much did it cost you?
The price is listed on the second image

To me, Samnee's Rocketeer work is second only to the master himself, Dave Stevens. I have never seen OA pages circulate from this run. Does anyone know why?
If you are looking for his Rocketeer art :
Chris did a bunch of sketch covers for the book, they appear on auctions from time to time.
