Alan Davis come to my mind
I have found a couple of pencils samples
beautiful pieces;
but they really need Mark Farmer or Paul Neary
If pencil art you like is available, why not just have Farmer ink it? He takes commissions

I don't know which shows for 2019 but the Artist's Choice used to do several shows a year --and they would bring a ton of art -- it was nice being able to go through all those stacks. Almost every time I would end up buying something.
I'd settle for flipping through art at the Artist's Choice booth, rather than ordering during the sale.
But the site doesn't mention their convention schedule. Anyone know which shows they will attend in 2019?

Agreed that the sig and the sketch look correct- the question is was the book printed with this or is this as advertised a “wet” sig and remark.
Sorry can't help you there. You can try emailing the Kubert school, they can probably answer quickly.

Good afternoon! I have another ComicArtAds auction prediction gov't shutdown special for you all, focusing on John Buscema, Gene Colan, and George Tuska art in this week's Heritage weekly auction:

Thanks in advance for checking it out, and special thanks to Jay Olie for his supportive comments, which I just noticed. Best regards, Lee
Great job Lee, finding comp's for all your art estimates! Heritage is still putting some serious art in these weekly auctions, sheesh

Here’s one example from the estate sale:
Cool, I had missed the Joe pages he listed (or sold off site). By the time I asked they were long gone.

that's the problem with having 2 first names. personally - I always get confused with Eric Roberts and Ethan Roberts. Admittedly - never knew either man, but both have/had great collections.
Oh I thought that it was Eric Roberts that passed away. His CAF collection is brilliant.
But I couldn't find Ethan on CAF, sounds like an impressive collection too.

I think it's nice that you want to try to help these people. But I don't understand why you would want a client who treats people this way. Also, if you're his rep, he doesn't seem to be telling these people he is stealing from. At least you could have refunded their money. I would have loved a commission from Larry Stroman, but no way would I give any money to him now even if I went trough you, -whom I admit seems like a really nice guy who wants everything to work out. Personally if he was my client I'd be worried that I look bad because of mess like this.
Looks like serendipity hasn’t been on these boards for a year and a half. So they may not be involved with Larry, now... their comments are rather old

Holtz was another artist I thought had some of Wrightson's qualities.
I agree on Kyle Hotz, he is influenced by Frazetta and Wrightson (more so)

The art is up and the sale has started. Go get'em! (One of my favorite dealers even if I only buy once in a blue moon anymore.)
That is Graphic Collectibles.
How do you find out, what art is on sale? I didn't notice an announcement on the homepage.
-
I get caught up in the sparkly fresh art on ebay/dealer updates. Someone on the board mentioned these keys to collecting, that I'll include here.
My Goal for 2019 is to not buy anything just for the sake of buying. Only go after art that gives me goosebumps, and will give me the same enthusiasm a year from now, as the day I purchased it. And continue selling art to finance purchases.
Art I'm looking for in 2019 (and beyond)
- David Mazzucchelli Batman sketch
- Mark Bagley Venom page
- Kelley Jones Batman page
- Bruce Timm: published art or cover prelims
- Batman Knightfall art: Jim Aparo, Norm Breyfogle, Graham Nolan
- Kurt Schaffenberger Lois Lane 70-71 page (featuring Catwoman)
- Stefanomjr, comicfanboy007 and John E.

Update on the Bisley Kickstarter sketchbook project: I was very pleasantly surprised to receive my book with sketch yesterday about six weeks after the funding period ended and within the projected delivery time. I honestly didn’t expect such a quick turnaround.
That's good news. I saw a few sketches posted. Can you post a pic?

just a conspiracy theory -but what if he had the art put in and had someone bid it up to make the art more valuable so he could sell the rest? totally made up theory, with no backing. just throwing it out there. if someone knows the consignor, feel free to debunk.
You're not alone with that theory. That was my first thought too.
Any guesses on what caused these 2 Batman/Catwoman pages to go for 4-6 K on Saturday? (Same price as a McFarlane Detective page!) I was watching and was floored by the hammer.
Is there someone with deep pockets actively looking for Catwoman art??! (...please god, no!)

This art is only meant to be used as an example for the topic - as its what sparked the conversation about restoration and shows what could be a good example. If the facts are different in this case - happy to hear about it - but again, the point here is to have a more general discussion - not pick on this one example.
Was a conclusive answer given on the difference between the two scans?

Looks like it's for the US edition. With the date and CCA stamp (do they use those in other countries?), that seals the deal for me.

I guess the good side is that CAF gets advertising dollars from him, even if his site is not actively used.
