Recently spotted this example down at the Bay. I think it demonstrates well, as @OtherEric suggested, how the second cover that got stapled on would have been strictly for store promo, not a second comic book cover like the OP has. Would be interested to see a slab with a promo cover attached & how CGC would handle it.

Bronze Age Fantastic Four Appreciation Thread
Shazbot replied to Mr Sneeze's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Perhaps not entirely canon, and with only 2 slabs up on the big board this #nn freebie may be among the least appreciated of the Bronze FFs, but I dig it. -

This past FCBD a local was giving out a Preview of his first book at the shop he used to work at, today I stumbled across this Johnson signed book down at the bay. Hope things work out.

First book I ever bought that wasn’t fresh off the rack or out of a $1 box. Took it off the counter display stand, paid the princely sum of $25, and flew home. Peeled that extra long strip of tape back, but not off though… not off though. Been over 30 years and it still stings. A brutal lesson for a noob but well learned, tape gets tossed EVERY SINGLE TIME!

New Release! CCG Presses Play on CGC Home Video Grading VHS tapes!
Shazbot replied to SpineTic's topic in Comics General
VHS love plus a Faces of Death Hollywood remake in the works has inspired me to bust this first production of the original classic out of storage. Still plays really well. -

Sorted by most recent, then number of bidders. Not seeing $$$. The only money I see are the single bid silliness & I don't believe any of those for a nanosecond. I spent the 90's+ buying out all the inventory of every vhs rental store that closed on the U.S. east coast. I've inspected, boxed, unboxed, cleaned, cataloged, alphabetized, shelved, pulled, & reboxed countless vhs tapes. Diamond edition Disney classics are no less common than their non-diamond clamshell counterparts. That doesn't mean you won't occasionally find one of those "born everyday" types willing to pay for one. -

Unfortunately this is a very old and very untrue myth, Diamond clamshells are very common and can be bought in excellent condition for the same price as all the other Disneys. Also, before anyone brings it up, The Little Mermaid with the &$#&@ on the cover isn’t worth anything either. ☺️ -
Strange teams up with Doom to save Victor’s long dead mother from Hell. Was one of the stories that really tipped me from liking comics to loving comics. Powerful story with great writing and art.

PGM Abbott and Costello #5 - St. John
Shazbot replied to Shazbot's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Good spot thanks, there is a small tear/hole on the spine. Added some additional pics. -

Please and thank you. Not much to point out that the pics don’t explain better than I could. No surprises inside.

What's the prevailing wisdom regarding rusty staples? Keep them a million miles away from the rest of the collection, or bag them and box them up with the rest unless you live on a boat? Thanks

A healthy part of your complete collection! -
Not much can be said for Marvel's Frontier division, but I do dig this embossed, glow-in-the-dark skull.

OP contacted the appropriate people in the appropriate manner and was told; "we stand by our grade, go scratch" It's nice that you're going to look into this, but customers shouldn't have to come begging at the public forums for this kind of thing. As customer service explained to you, they stand by their grade. Now that you've been forced to publicly call them out hopefully you'll receive service instead of being told you're wrong and to kick rocks. My quote was from a thread regarding another recent grading issue.
