Thank you, that really was everything I needed to know about variants.

How do low print variant covers find their way into the population? Are they distributed to locals upon request or through a lottery, are they company/industry perks, do the artists give them to friends? Who gets those 800 copies of Massafera's virgin SS Rebirth #1s from the distributor? Thanks.

I feel your pain. Is that a BCW? I struggle with curved BCWs all the time. It is quite bad. And that looks even worse than most of mine. It's also not that easy to bend it back perfectly without warping another side and ending up with multiple curves instead of the one. What I think helps is bending them as best you can and then putting them in mylar instead of the thin bags.
They're Ultra Pro. I'm really thinking these need to go back, it's very stressful to look at my books on them. Last time I bagged my books was 30 years ago but I really don't remember ever getting a pack this bad.

Halfback and Fullbacks are terms for boards sold by one company, not a generic term for boards coated on one side.
Thank you so much, my last 3 hours of research actually makes some sense now.

Does halfback refer to boards coated on only one side as opposed to fullbacks being coated on both sides? Do I understand these terms correctly?
also, I read in a (much) older thread that they tend to come with a bit of curvature, but is this not a bit too curved? Shiny side up. Looking to rebag and just got these.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply's. I've certainly noticed those on pages but never noticed them on a cover before. I know they wouldn't effect a grade when found on pages, would it when found on the cover?

I hopped online looking to replace a random, unimportant book I noticed had a chunk worn away from the bottom. I looked at about 20 copies and every one of them had the same damage, in the same place, in the same triangular shape, to varying degrees of distress. Is this a common p/b defect? A shipping thing? I've not noticed this before. Sorry for the noob question. Thanks for any info. The damage is at the bottom edge just to the right of the upc.
