Well, I wouldn't be so sure about this since I just checked the Overstreet guide which states that "Early issues were full-size, 32 pages, and were printed with and without an extra cover of slick stock, just for the advertiser.  The binding was stapled if the slick cover was added; otherwise, the pages were glued together at the spine.  :gossip:

Later, it goes on say that "All pre #79 issues came with or without a slick protective wrap-around cover over the regular cover .............".  hm

So, bottom-line...............you just MIGHT hopefully have something real good here and best for you to check it out.  (shrug)  :wishluck:

Recently spotted this example down at the Bay. I think it demonstrates well, as @OtherEric suggested, how the second cover that got stapled on would have been strictly for store promo, not a second comic book cover like the OP has.

Would be interested to see a slab with a promo cover attached & how CGC would handle it.

  2. First book I ever bought that wasn’t fresh off the rack or out of a $1 box. Took it off the counter display stand, paid the princely sum of $25, and flew home. Peeled that extra long strip of tape back, but not off though… not off though. Been over 30 years and it still stings. A brutal lesson for a noob but well learned, tape gets tossed EVERY SINGLE TIME!

I dunno eBay sold listings say otherwise. I mean there are quite a few all can’t be fake completed sales.

Sorted by most recent, then number of bidders. Not seeing $$$. The only money I see are the single bid silliness & I don't believe any of those for a nanosecond.

I spent the 90's+ buying out all the inventory of every vhs rental store that closed on the U.S. east coast. I've inspected, boxed, unboxed, cleaned, cataloged, alphabetized, shelved, pulled, & reboxed countless vhs tapes. Diamond edition Disney classics are no less common than their non-diamond clamshell counterparts. That doesn't mean you won't occasionally find one of those "born everyday" types willing to pay for one.

Very interesting to see the vhs graded stuff I know there’s a market for Diamond Disney classics some vhs tapes sell for 1k and above

Unfortunately this is a very old and very untrue myth, Diamond clamshells are very common and can be bought in excellent condition for the same price as all the other Disneys.

Also, before anyone brings it up, The Little Mermaid with the &$#&@ on the cover isn’t worth anything either. ☺️

Sure.  To be clear though, the we stand behind comment was not directed towards something like this.

OP contacted the appropriate people in the appropriate manner and was told; "we stand by our grade, go scratch"
It's nice that you're going to look into this, but customers shouldn't have to come begging at the public forums for this kind of thing.

    ? What’s the context here?

As customer service explained to you, they stand by their grade. Now that you've been forced to publicly call them out hopefully you'll receive service instead of being told you're wrong and to kick rocks. My quote was from a thread regarding another recent grading issue.
