  1. I love these editions and bought each one of them as they were released. But man, I paid retail and thought they'd increase in value! You got em for a song!
  2. Been stockpiling Detectives since Ram V took over: So far, 7 out of 1000 read this year: Detective Comics #1062 Detective Comics #1063 Detective Comics #1064 Detective Comics #1065 Detective Comics #1066 Detective Comics #1067 Detective Comics 2022 Annual
  3. Went on a family road trip to Florida. Broke away a few times to check out some local comic shops to get my fill. Hit a total of four stores and picked up some junk: Comic Shop #1 - Coliseum of Comics, Kissimmee, FL Impressive wall with lots of silver to bronze boxes to dig through. Also more current copper to modern back issues. All those great books but just picked out some common books for my runs: Comic Shop #2 - Coliseum of Comics (Millenia), Orlando, FL Met Jack, the buyer, who popped into the store. He said that he used to work at Graham Cracker Comics and told me to check him out on YouTube (that, I did). Lots of nice early silver Wonder Woman books. But I got these instead: Will be adding that Daredevil Annual #4 to this box... Comic Shop #3 - All Books and Comics, St. Augustine, FL Random stop-off on the way to Castillo de San Marcos. Checked it out. Yes I did buy those She-Hulks. "Semi-Final issue?" What are we referring to - the Stanley Cup playoffs? Comic Shop #4 - Fourcorners Comics, Gettysburg, PA I liked this store. Good selection of bronze-copper back issues at reasonable prices. ... and that's all folks.
  4. Hopefully he retreats back to his cave once and for all. In his YouTube rant a few weeks ago, around the time of this screen capture, he says "the publicity helps." Hope he read the comments in his video.
  5. Exactly. Not only submitting to CGC but also giving expert advice. But his comment has some perspective. There is a greater collecting community on Facebook, Instagram, WhatNot or anyone who buys and sells CGC graded books in these platforms has no *spoon* idea there is a CGC Forum.
  6. A few minutes in... Re: What does that say about him? And what does that say about us?
  7. I ordered this through my LCS just recently. I didn't realize that it was going to be released this soon!
  8. Fantastic report! You are excellent with the camera!
  9. I've been using Excel to manage my comics for nearly 20 years. It is customized with formulas and filters to suit my needs. I use it to track issues, condition, creator info, purchasing, CGC submissions, selling, consignments, costs and profits. Cataloguing is work that you have to stay on top of, but in the end I'm able to access anything about my collection quickly. Downside is that it is not suited to mobile devices.
  10. Sorry, it was the other half of the World's Finest:
  11. You've posted a photo of that Batman in a previous Buffalo con report - am I right? I'm gonna have to create a Google Alert for "Buffalo Comic Con" so I don't miss any in the future.
  12. My friend Mr. Carlos at @GOTHAMCENTRAL had a terrific 10th anniversary sale at his store a few weeks ago. Great selection of omnis and trades! Wound up buying this one... for my son
  13. Yes! Not too many bookstore options other than Chapters/Indigo these days!
  14. Picked up this low-grader... What do you hate most? The large water stain? The face coloured in with pen? Or... ... the poor math skills?
  15. --- I saw these volumes for the first time in a bookstore a few weeks ago. They look great! Was looking to pick up the three hardcover editions at the right price. At the very least, the collected Black Panther comics from the Jungle Action run in hardcover would, for me, be the one to own (though an Omni Black Panther with these issues is due to be released soon).
  16. Managed to hit the back-issue bins at a local comic shop and came away with these... Classic Steranko in ST #168. Some cheapies. Got issues 3-4 from the first series; 1-2 from the second. Makes me think someone before me purchased the opposite. Volumes I and II of Machine Man illustrated by the masters. Kirby, Ditko, Trimpe... and Windsor-Smith: Trouble with redheads... Hercules wouldn't do well in today's cancel culture
  17. Pulled together my pre-orders have been trickling in over the past few months. And I thought I slowed down. Second prints for Moon Knights, X-Men V2, Fantastic Four V2. Will set up my library and read all these omnis when I retire (sometime in the 2030s ). Or they can go into my tomb.
  18. Li'l Miss Grumble was very efficient at the show. She spotted 3 anime figures at a junk table and ran to me in a panic for $$$. Once we secured the deal, she was done for the day. All under 5 minutes. Time to hit Five Below. Behold. Cardcaptor Sakura figures: Senior Grumble's purchases... some bronze pickups at reasonable prices. Ho-hum, pedestrian. The full X-Men run in high-gradish is still slowly coming together! Overall, the show had plenty of tables to rummage through if you're into digging through boxes to find a nugget to two. One dealer, Fantasy Unlimited Comics, had all the high-end books in the room with more keys than you could shake a stick at. Hot keys were at premium prices. Great inventory. Very nice way of getting out of the house. The novelty of crossing the border into the U.S. after two years is still fresh. And of course It was great to finally see Blowie again!
