The book didn't sell out at Wondercon either. It was for sale at Emerald City also.

My guess is that it was allocated between the two shows, and not the case that Emerald City got the sloppy leftovers from Wondercon.

Looks like the rush to get books in before 6/1 is impacting TAT's.

Moderns Received 5/12. Today is 19 days if you count the day they were received. They have not made it to the resto check stage yet. :p

General rule for counting days is that either the first day or the last day are counted, but not both.  Plus, Memorial Day came in between, so it's been 17 business days since 5/12, assuming that CGC doesn't invoke the Friday before a major con exception.  So really hard to tell how many business days it's been for CGC since 5/12 as Megacon and Wizard World Philadelphia (this one is probably a stretch) took place in the interim.

They seem to be at right about 4 weeks to ship back, from when they were "recieved". I think they were slow to "recieve" them in order to keep it at 4 weeks though, or it's an amazing coincidence....C2E2 was April 21st so they probably got it last week in April or first week in May at the latest....idk recieved May 9th? when they were shipped right after April 21st?

    it's con season

My experience has been that submissions made at cons have a delay in being "received."  The exception was Megacon, and perhaps it is because in that case the books were simply driven back, but for other shows the books are shipped back, and CGC doesn't necessarily process the packages as soon as they are received.

The purchase of a VIP pass actually does entitle you to not wait in line (at least in most cases.) It is not a sense of entitlement, it is actual entitlement.

Huge difference between not having to mix in with the regular line and causing the regular line not to move at all.  Of course a VIP is entitled to a separate line that feeds in to the front of the table.  But it's not slighting VIPs to have a system that gives VIPs uber priority and yet allows the line with the peons to not have to wait for every single VIP to get their items signed (some of them multiple times) before a single peon gets anything signed.  Kind of like the fast pass system at theme parks.  Patrons with a fast pass don't have to wait nearly as long as everyone else, but the world doesn't stop for them.

Thanks for the tips!  I don't mind taking the time to fill out the PDF forms at my leisure instead of at a hectic con.  I know who and what I am getting, and would rather make things easier.   Got my plan ready, window boxes cut and ready to go!

There are no online forms for SS.  And my experience has been that CGC will only provide the hard copy forms to dealers outside of a show.

  7. You are being a more than a little douchey.  Even if you're a VIP, you still have stand in line with other VIPs.  So you're always going to be standing in a line.  Even if you walk up in the middle of a signing you don't go straight to whoever is signing.  You have to queue up with whoever is already at the table.  So would it be so bad if you had to wait a few extra minutes because they let a handful of people go through who had been in line for hours?  Seriously.  The sense of entitlement these days. :screwy:

  8. Easy to say "pay the money and get the VIP," but those things are limited and usually sell out long before the show.  To me they should do like they do at airport security between "priority" and those that are not when there is only one person checking credentials--alternate between the two lines.  It doesn't have to alternate evenly, but it should alternate.  Hard to imagine VIP pass holders getting bent out of shape because a few people from the regular line are getting let through before them, and if they do, they need to get a life.

The issue with this one is Harrison Ford is not allowing send ins at all so it may make this signing unattractive to a facilitator since you will have some people looking to complete their cast signed books. Since both Kenny Baker and Carrie Fisher passed away recently you may have less people willing to start a new one.

Not trying to get a facilitator, but rather for Official Pix and CGC to work something out to allow Official Pix to send books to CGC directly from the signing.  At most that would require a CAW to be present, but should not require a facilitator.

Still waiting to hear back from Sam Peterson.
