Why slower when it is $30/41 per item more?
My interpretation...
Fast track is pure profit. You're not paying for faster grading, but to cut to the front of the line. More accurately, fast track is the standard grading time and price, but if you're willing to go to the back of the line then you get a discount. Based on that idea, the actual comparison is 20/26 vs. 31, basically the same. Why the price difference? The value of the comic. Your comic's value doesn't change the work they do, but it does change the amount of money you stand to make off of that work. If you can't sell your comic without CGC, then they can essentially charge whatever they want. The limits on that freedom are established through market research and the results guide the tier structure.

I like reading it and educating myself.
For me the value was in the annotations that are now ubiquitous; all the mentions of soti panels and appearances of one character in another's book, etc.

slab it. You gotta CGC it
Counterpoint interiors could probably be left blank if they aren't already. Zoomers' lust for those exploitation covers is bolstered by an unshakable confidence in their pin-up collection's long-term value.

I have no idea what the actual CGC demographics are nor anything about OP, but I can confidently say that young collectors are rabid for variant covers and for CGC slabbing.

If they give too much information, they just open the floodgates to customers objecting to what often amounts as a judgement call. We can all agree what a crease is, but if there's a small spot on a spine, does that constitute a manufacturing defect or something that's damage? Lots things being decided on the margins.
I understand the concern. I want to give you an idea of the completeness with which the other place elucidates their 9.6 decisions, and the variety of descriptions given.
The following is a selection of xxxx's publicly available grader notes on various 9.6 comic books:
few small spine stress & tiny spine corner wear some breaks color
few small spine stress does not break color
few spine stress & tiny corner & edge wear to cover breaks color front cover
light crease top back cover barely breaks color
light spine stress barely breaks color

Therein lies the biggest problem with CGC not providing grader notes, on all dang books
The other place provides notes on every single book without fail unless it's a 9.8. Having that information enabled me to study and get up to date with slab grading. Of course when you transfer those standards to CGC it unravels pretty quickly, and that's a benefit toward maximizing profit. The other place is a losing game for re-sell, not only because of the accurate grading but because most buyers don't want it; the younger crowd shuns it. . . and this reply possibly has little to do with your comment.

Hi! I'm sure someone mentioned GPAnalysis at some point; did you get a ever get a subscription if you had wanted one?

So sorry! I agree that the best stance is to not submit a book for pressing that can't be improved with pressing

Someone really needs to explain to me why a 9.8 can go for 33-50% more than a 9.6, and you'd have to squint at the books and still be guessing why one was "better" than another. I would be willing to trade anyone my 9.8 for a 9.6 plus whatever the surcharge for 0.2 points (that may or may not be arbitrary) costs.
Many people are driven to own "the best" of whatever they're interested in. In this case, the perceived scarcity of a 9.8 relative to lower grades is the driver of the demand. Whether that scarcity is manufactured is of course up for debate...

it’s like they didn’t even bother re-grading the books I don’t even think they got pressed or cleaned
Hi OP,
CGC published notes on two of your books and pressing wouldn't have fixed the defects mentioned:
I hope this helps, certification lookup is now publicly accessible and you can check at any time:

I don't know if it's actually culturally relevant as it's about 15 years too late, but a lot of people weren't on this planet 15 years ago, so zombies might be new to them, which means there are new people to sell things to without anyone having to work too hard at creating fresh stuff. Zombies popped up in the What If animated series and they're going to have their own series now I guess. 🤷♂️

@KirbyTownI was mistaken about best offers having 15 days to pay. It probably just felt like 15 days as I checked every day to see if the purchase had completed.
Thanks for the info, I've never used it as a seller and still probably won't!

Thanks for the responses! I should clarify that by success I meant receiving a blue label for the destructive work rather than a restored label. I assumed that any remaining bleed would still communicate intent to a grader, which seems to be the difference between color touch and merely a bit of marker on the cover.

While high bidder during countdown I bumped up my high bid and it reset the clock. Didn't know if this was intentional so just letting you know.
