  1. Okay you left me no choice. I am going to report you to the mods. Very annoying. Sorry. Rye, I think you are flooding the PGM thread, against guidelines. 3 books max a day. I'm not going to report you but the mods can close your threads. POSTING LIMITS2. Please post only one (1) book per thread and a maximum of three (3) books per person in a 24 hour period. It will make it more enjoyable for people to grade and will also encourage more people to grade your submission.

  7. Did you see the rust migration on the bottom staple ? I don't think they will like the ink on the BC either. Awfully rough top edge. Sorry, I don't see it in this range.
  8. Another nice book. What's going on with that top staple, is it detached ? If so, you will get a green, qualified label. Also, is that rust migration on the bottom staple ? If so, that will hurt the grade. Pressing may help the presentation a little but I don't think it will help the grade much. Remember, pressing will not only add cost but add to the turnaround time. Your call. Depending on the staple issues, I think this book would struggle to get a 6.0, maybe 5.5 .
  9. It was always my understanding that books are never held to combine shipping. I've submitted multiple tiers, many times and have never been afforded the courtesy of combined shipping. In fact, it's annoying to me that they have accommodated you in the past. When I asked why they can't hold for combined shipping it was explained to me that they carry insurance on all the books while in their possession. Holding books longer onsite results in higher insurance costs for them. Seems reasonable to me. I think you should feel lucky to have received this courtesy in the past instead of complaining about it here. Sorry to be harsh but you do not have a legitimate complaint here.
  10. Nice book, probably worth grading. I don't know the marketplace for pence copies though. Not sure how much they will downgrade for the scribble on the back. IMO, a classic 4.5 .
  11. You are not the only one that feels like this. Word must be out that the Boards is a cheap venue to sell. It really ticks me off when these first time posting sellers ask aggressive prices. Some further ask for 3% for Paypal. So, no fees, add 3%, and sell at max price. Nice.
  12. Sorry, this is not true. CGC will crack a resubbed slab. In fact they encourage leaving it in the slab. Not sure if you remember a situation discussed here where a cracked out Universal slab came back Purple. The problem was the owner submitted it raw. Harshen himself came on here to recommend always sending a resub in the slab.
  13. Hey, I love the Virgos. I just don't argue with them ! I hate to lose.
  14. Listen up everyone. Don't even think you are going to defeat Jaydog. He has already demonstrated he is the ultimate Virgo by outlasting Roy (Vintage). Trust me, I'm married to a Virgo, you can't win ! Jaydog, I do think Voldy is tougher on Page Quality. What say you ? I recently cracked open a Voldy OW/W and the pages looked White to me.
  15. I remembered this thread where we discussed whether the OP should resub his TTA #1 8.0 White, old Label. Tonight `I saw this book in the Pedigree auction as a CGC 8.0 White, new label, so it was indeed resubmitted. While the book looks good in the new label, I still think it was a mistake. Any premium for an old label resub is now gone. At least the pages retained White. BTW, this should be noted in the discussion on CGC'd books requiring a resub every 7 years. I'm sure this book has gone through two 7 year cycles in the same slab with no paper degradation.
  16. I popped this baby out of it's holder. Since the grade was mostly reflected by the interior problems it looks great in mylar.
  17. The cover colors on the Twin Cities books are amazing. The reds on this really pop.
  18. It should say Verified within a day or two of receipt. This means they received it and the invoice matches the contents of the delivery.
  19. Why are his remarks so 'stunning' ? His remarks would apply to CGC also. He submits because there is a good markup on the book. Ditto CGC. Sometimes he gets inflated grades, assuming this means higher than he thought the book graded, ditto CGC. Don't even try to rebuttal that CGC never overgrades. LOL.
  20. No protection in the slab. Of course the grade can drop in the slab. The grade is a snapshot in time when the graders see the book. Environmental factors can lower the grade. Besides sunlight you have humidity, heat, trauma, etc.
  21. I know it's difficult to get a 9.8 with a Solar 10. Some flaws are considered bindery, common to certain books, and get a pass from CGC. However, I don't know if that corner chip is common or not to Solar 10. Personally, I'm thinking it's a 9.2 . I would suggest sending it in with other books to prescreen. The big bucks are in the 9.8's for this book. Anything below 9.8 drops off dramatically.
  22. I once had an FF52 in 9.6 but after the price spike I traded down to a 9.2 . I agree that it's a great key. Such a cool, black cover. I would also advise saving up for at least an 8.0 . The higher the grade, the better the investment on this book.
  23. It's already in a slab so obviously the OP is disagreeing with the assigned grade and wants to see what we think. However, without a BC pic, we are simply guessing. To be honest, I'm not quite seeing a 6.0 here but 6.0 tops.
  24. I wouldn't trade the Exciting for a Hulk 181. GA for Bronze, bad trade. Sorry.
