  1. I suspect the book will not get a 9.8, maybe not even close. I just took a look at the value for this book and a 9.8 slab is worth about 50 bucks. In summary, I don't think trying to spend the investment money on this is worth it. Sorry.
  2. Greetings. You are expected to list the declared value. If you are submitting the book, you should have a feel for the grade. The Sunday question is tough. It really depends if they have time. I would not go any later than first thing on Sunday. Even if they take it on Sunday it may not get finished on SUnday and it will go back with them.
  3. With a grade as low as a 3.0, I suspect the cover was not attached. I just don't see how you can claim SCS caused any new damage. I also don't see the grade going lower either. Of course, we are not realling looking at much here anyway.
  4. That's not an easy question to answer. If trimmed, it depends on where and how many locations. A book with three ends trimmed would really kill the grade/price.
  5. Sometimes you have to ask yourself why the book is being offered for sale, not slabbed . It looks nice but suspicous. Trimming can often be difficult to detect, especially without the book in hand. I would pass on it.
  6. Greetings, tough to answer without seeing the book or the full set of notes. A detached centerfold loses more points as the grade is higher. If it's a 6.5 , your guess of 8.0 to 8.5 sounds reasonable.
  7. I'm confused, was the book mailed inside a CGC slab ?
  8. It sounds like you already understand the CCS process. Good job but I don't know what is confusing you ? If you need a status call CCS.
  9. Your books will be insured for the amount you specified on the submission form. I would think twice about mixing 500 dollar books with 5,000 dollar books into the same submission. You want the submissions to all go through the same process together. In the same, out the same, processed together.
  10. The Curator 57 adjustment is discouraging but at least it looks better. Remember this example of a similar grade bump, looked horrible.
  11. Thanks ! I'd like to show my wife my inclusion in the awards but I'm too afraid this is a prank .
  12. They would 'dock' the grade quite a bit. The fading is strong. Looks like a 7.0 grade range for me. Not sure but if you are considering buying this book I would avoid it.
  13. Keep in mind the 'rules' for CGC grading will fluctuate and change over time. To my knowledge, a completely detached centerfold on a very high grade book, would max out at 7.0 .
  14. I think it's very difficult to assist you without any pics of what you are talking about. Often, books suffer from color fades because the book is on display, open to sunlight. You may be suffering from water exposure, excessive heat exposure, etc. It could be many things that we could only guess at without seeing pics. Sorry.
  15. It really depends if the bends can be improved by the press. A bend with a tear or color break would probably not be improved with a press.
  16. I think there is more distributor spray on this book than 'normal'. As you mentioned, there is more on the bottom right corner also. As a collector, I would notice this and it would annoy me. Sorry but I think any desire for a 9.6 would really be loose grading. 9.4 seems correct.
  17. This is correct. The magazine size cases never took the shape of a new label. Everything is fine.
  18. In this case, your copy is not a real high grade. I think it will affect the grade but maybe one tick down.
  19. They know the best way to press.........................
