  1. Thanks everyone. It's rare to get such accolades nowadays on 'only' 8.0 books. It's refreshing to know that undergraded, never been manipulated books can still be appreciated.
  2. These are two very tightly graded books. Old school CGC.
  3. I believe I once showed an ASM Annual 1 to a well known service provider and he said it is not wise to press an Annual. Something about applying heat to a cover that is glued to the book doesn't always work well. The annual looks great as is = I would leave it alone.
  4. (thumbs u Great book Tom. Tough book to find with this kind of eye appeal, maybe second in difficulty to only the 11.
  5. Wow, what a book ! Presents like a 9.4. Congrats.
  6. Oregon Copy, imagine if this was the next issue (247) in this grade ?!?
  7. A couple purchases from Andy (October) at C2E2 today.
  8. I don't think you did anything wrong. As was stated, I think the Boards need to cut you a little slack. The seller is very highly regarded and everyone jumped on you. Don't take it personally. I understand your comment about checking to see if the seller was on the Boards while not responding to your PM's. I have done similar searches.
  9. These are actually from another local collection I picked up, except the IM/Subby 1, which was a raw eBay buy! Wasn't that the 'road trip' collection and you got the leftovers ? Great stuff, congrats.
  10. Good eye. Yes it is. Your comment actually scared me for a second () !
  11. Cool books, nice submission. I especially like the Conan 37. Congrats.
  12. Exceptional copy of an ish that is nearly always mis-wrapped. +1 This is an exceptional copy. Also, a nicely placed date stamp, as oppossed to hand written, for me adds appeal. This book should be a keeper. Congrats.
  13. Since this page can turn from 114 to 115 at any time I will list both....
  14. From my experience, if a book is loose in the inner well, it is loose leaving the factory, ie CGC, but it probably does not have SCS. The SCS develops later, from poor storage or multiple trips to the auction house. 'If' the OO notices the book is loose and returns it to CGC the problem is solved, however, we all know this isn't usually the case. Personally, I don't believe one should knowingly pass an SCS damaged slab onto another buyer, however, we all know this isn't usually the case. While I would not bother CGC with a small dollar book, I have sent them higher dollar books that had obvious SCS damage and they have addressed it. They stand behind their product but only within reason.
  15. Nice looking book, congrats. For a key, I always thought WW 1 was undervalued and underloved.
  16. While looking for something else in my home crawlspace, I just found the Golden Record Reprint Album for JIM 83 . Here's a pic with it's associated book. I had these for a while but just had the book slabbed last summer. Anyone know what just the record (with album jacket) is worth ? I plan on keeping the book but may move the album.

  18. Cool stuff. Assuming they came from the same collection or source I find it interesting the page quality on a couple were different. Do you remember if the book with White pages really had superior pages to it's double. I love the JLA 55, always found this one tough to find in high grade. I just picked up a 9.0 copy recently, I should have waited for one of your 9.6's to be offered !
  19. That's the Grand Rapids Copy just listed on Clink. Nice book. I remember it was bought almost immediately upon listing. Congrats.
  20. Yeh, there's lots of places along the spine that where touched up by a black sharpie. GL's right arm has a big area filled in as well. All the ct has bleed through also. Any idea what I could sell this copy for? I don't have much experience selling restored comics. For a non key book, as a general Rule of Thumb I go with about 25% of the unrestored FMV. I know it sounds stupid but I have intentionally sent in some key books with CT to get graded by CGC. I think it is an easier sell in the slab if the book grades out and the buyer knows the full extent of the resto. If this were a Marvel I would suggest getting it signed by Stan Lee () !
