  1. Always worth having a look through. You never know.
  2. I recall one major dealer describing a film star as having ‘great taste’ in comic books simply because he was a purchaser of expensive Golden Age. To me, this attitude always sounds like an elitist and pretentious suck-up, as one could also have ‘great taste’ by appreciating comics that, while cheap and easily available, contain great stories and artwork, and, from my perspective, show a much wider appreciation of the medium than just being able to throw money around impulsively at the top end of the market on the obvious status symbols.
  3. I would have included the following page as well. She totally crushes him mentally...
  4. PS3 Skyrim Legendary was stable enough for the minor issues to be tolerated. I put 100s of hours into it, and after that long the worst problem would be occasional frame rate drop out and stuttering, but only after an hour or more of constant play, which was long enough, and resolved by a save and reload. In all that time I only spotted one dragon flying backwards in the sky, and got torched by an invisible dragon on the ground. Overall, for story and quests I preferred Oblivion. Fantastic game. Skyrim, superior for combat.
  5. Hard to believe it'll remain an exclusive forever, as Skyrim was eventually ported to more or less every device. Too lucrative. Skyrim on PS3 was a crashing, freezing, unplayable mess after a mere 40 hours or so when first released, which is no time at all on an RPG game. I bought the Legendary Edition, which was great, and very stable.
  6. Heroes Inc I was given a free copy. It’s that scarce.
  7. Just thinking that in the US a brown suede jacket would be popular. Apart from the shoulder patches and buckles, that’s all it is.
  8. Still, the effort you went to illustrates that it’s a great game and one for the other boardies to consider if they were unaware of it.
  9. I'd consider getting the upgrades, which are all free. Now, it's a really excellent game with many additional features.
  10. Yup. Nothing like the feeling of victory and accomplishment after suffering through hours and hours of crushing annihilation.
  11. My favourite horror comics as well. I don’t read much modern horror, but the last Hellblazer / Constantine series was really quite excellent, and I’ll recommend it again.
  12. Here's a retrospective article, written on the Cracked website, which you might be interested in reading... https://www.cracked.com/article_32676_honoring-marvel-and-dcs-greatest-artist-george-perez.html
  13. I've always been the sort of comics nerd who enthuses quite genuinely about my iconic creators while they're still here, in their prime, but it's crushing when this kind of transition starts to occur, especially with an extremely nice, appreciative and caring individual like George here. This period feels sadly transitional for me as well, as we've already lost many of the key talents who I've followed ever since I started reading back in the mid 70s. You can read the comic book stories, admire the art, but it all becomes layered with sadness.
  14. You’re much more perceptive than me. As far as I can tell, it’s one of the most accurate examples of precision lightboxing that I’ve ever seen.
  15. The current market is so unaffordable to many of us that I’ve given up worrying about future trends. Not worth the anguish.
  16. Mister Fantastic was done very poorly in the two FF movies, and so I hope they achieve much better CGI results with Plastic Man. Also, the fluctuating light-and-dark tone of Jack Cole’s original stories, as was used quite successfully in the Shazam! film.
