  1. It’s a typical comics nerd discussion. I’m happy to participate.
  2. Blue Marvel is also at a similar power level. The Superman equivalent could be African-American.
  3. Has it shown that the temperature goes outside the recommended operating range? If you switched a PS3 to a faster drive, 7200 rpm from 5400 rpm, as I did, you could read nonsense online that the drive would run hotter and "melt the PS3". In fact, it ran a couple of degrees hotter but was still pretty much in the middle of the system's safe operating range. I've used the same drive for years.
  4. Very nice sketch. Cap's face looks more like Kirby's Golden Age style.
  5. Great pickup. One of my all-time favourite artists, who I never got to meet in person. I was lucky enough to have an ashcan comic sent to me by Howard Greber, self-published and signed by Corben, which, as an added surprise, Howard had included as a free extra book in one of my packages. So, I understand the excitement.
  6. This one deserves it more. Even compared to 227, my favourite Adams Batman cover…
  7. Which leaves an opening to suggest Peter Quill, Star-Lord. Quite different, and better than his Bronze Age origins.
  8. Don’t forget Jimmy Corrigan. (Not The Spectre, for non-indie readers)
  9. I agree. I read pretty much anything by Jonathan Hickman. Good art, as well.
  10. Deadpool Ms Marvel (Kamala Khan) Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
  11. Good to see that several boardies were lucky enough to have their first exposure to comics being ECs; genuine apex, A-list material.
  12. The prices at present are more Salt Bae than 3 star. Or, certifiable.
  13. I have a PS5 arriving in a week or two, believing that it would be well into next year before I’d have the chance to buy one at retail price, so that was a nice surprise, if not a minor miracle. To make it CG-relevant, looking forward to playing the excellent new Guardians of the Galaxy game on it.
  14. Some books are very tough to find with better page quality, for example, if you're looking at underground comix. I only have one with CR / OW pages, a copy of Up From The Deep 1, 9.6, which is a classic Richard Corben book.
  15. That's his ability to make every character look distinct in terms of facial appearance and expression, whereas many comic artists have a far more limited range with very similar looking faces and repetitive expressions. Couple that with a mastery of body language and fluid figurework and you have a virtuoso capable of handling, with comparative ease, projects with huge casts of characters in a way that would have defeated many of his contemporaries.
  16. Nice, centralised figure surrounded by the Justice League A very powerful and dark story, and one of the best in Perez’s run on the title. My favourite Perez Batman cover.
  17. That's right. He also did a lot of plotting on the post-Crisis Wonder Woman comic.
  18. I never looked into PS Direct at all. Before I got to that stage I received the other offer email and took that up instead.
  19. One I like because the face-off and charge between the two groups is less chaotic than in many of Perez's hyper-detailed covers, and, overall it's superb and easy to appreciate his talent. Another one I like because it's a simple, detailed and emotional composition, also marking the return of one of my favourite teams. One of the great Titans stories.
  20. I'd have posted Wonder Woman 1 as well. Great cover, for a series with a lot of excellent Perez art and consistently good stories throughout. Read it again this year. I'll have this as an alternative,,,
