  1. I exaggerated while watching it. But, looked far too old.
  2. Looked more to me like a thirtysomething Robin. Not a young Batman. Kidding me if he was a teenage orphan. (Thought that while watching Batman Forever.)
  3. Let’s see, this was originally a disposable paper item costing cents or pennies, but now this guy’s willing to pay a huge markup on that, so maybe these items aren’t quite so disposable anymore, or the item, exactly as advertised, is important to them, whether it’s by way of nostalgia, OCD, or for resale, and so maybe I should try to take precautions to get it to them with the same presentation it had when advertised? Common sense, obvious consideration; in short supply.
  4. ‘I read all 27,000 Marvel comics and Lived to Tell the Tale’ doesn’t sound like a statement made by a true Marvel Zombie. More likely would be… ’I read all 27,000 Marvel comics, and now my life is complete.’ No other mountains to climb that could possibly measure up. Game over.
  5. Or they’ll make it appear that you’re a pest and an exception… ’We’ve shipped to many satisfied customers the world over, without issues.’ That happened to me in a similar Jiffy Bag incident.
  6. There's been a promo ad appearing for quite some time now. Easy to close it with the 'X' at top right on its window and continue the sign in process. On my phone, it does appears to sign out, but on refreshing the page you are still signed in. A fairly minor extra step that isn't something I've found quite so frustrating nor impossible.
  7. Yup. Hiding underneath the terribly written article, especially the laughably hyperbolic introduction, the actual book itself does look promising.
  8. At least Davies is back in charge now.
  9. The alcoholism storyline starts earlier in issue 166, with a bit of a lead up to it in the preceding issues. I read the saga complete in Iron Man Epic Collection Vols 10 and 11, ‘The Enemy Within’ and ‘Duel of Iron’, which cover issues 158 to 195.
  10. Demon in a Bottle is an earlier Bronze Age story in which Stark remains much more functional. This story from the 80s is a total descent into the abyss in which he loses control of Stark Industries, ends up living as a homeless alcoholic on the street, and also leads to Rhodey taking over the Iron Man role. It gets seriously intense and crushing, particularly the big scene in issue 182, which acts as a stimulus for him to start putting it back together again. A classic, 80s Copper Age story. The cover’s brilliant, as a visual metaphor for the hopelessness, isolation and bleakness of his social situation.
  11. A very dark and tragic story. Quite underrated and overlooked compared to the more famous ‘Demon in a Bottle’. I found its conclusion far harder-hitting. The OP should definitely give it a read.
  12. I simply couldn't match your level of anger, and didn't try.
  13. I’m sensing negativity. Well-expressed negativity, though.
  14. You should read it. It’s quite amusing in places, such as when Master of Kung Fu is described as a lesser-known ‘deep cut’. Not close, even before the film. Highly-regarded Bronze Age.
  15. Forgot the Nova Corps was also destroyed prior to Nova 1. So, the Annihilation Wave was second time around.
  16. The way Rider got his powers in Nova 1 made sense, as it was simply ripping off Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, and that he was the first earthborn Nova Corps member for the same basic reason. After the Annihilation Wave he was the only Nova Centurion remaining alive, and so giving him all the Nova Force power was an understandable if desperate last resort. Nothing to do with his planet of origin. There’s no such credible foundation being presented in the film outline described above.
  17. That’s more EC than Marvel monster, Kav. Definitely pre-Code.
  18. Sounds like you’ve been reading some old Marvel Monster comics, though.
  19. I call BS. You’re a DC specialist. Curt Swan didn’t work for Marvel.
  20. Aha! So, he’s not read all of them, then, making the article completely redundant. You need to reach that rarified summit, not stop down below in the foothills. To begin with, it did sound like a completist achievement similar to Ian Levine’s, but actually it isn’t close.
  21. I recalled the issue number instantly because it’s describing the only one drawn by John Byrne in the Bronze Age run of the title. Also the crossover issue with Byrne’s Ghost Rider 20. Also coincidental that we’re talking about the artist of that particular X-Men issue.
  22. I prefer the original green background. The red option is a bit too intense and loud for me.
