  1. It's pretty good, though. It does describe my range quite well; erudite through to random. More the latter, these days.
  2. Sorry to sound like a newbie here, but how did this custom title suddenly appear?
  3. He did get better. His mastery of shading with the ASM 129 Spider-Cockroach was simply incredible.
  4. Metallica's lead guitarist? A big comics fan, I believe.
  5. Fantastic selection of games there. Two of my all-time favourite science-fiction RPGs; Mass Effect and Fallout, and the classic Red Dead Redemption, with one of the best storylines and endings in gaming history.
  6. I wondered when this one would turn up. The infamous item that Marvel released to promote a Spider-Man mini-series drawn by Richard Corben. Yup, Mike, I couldn't resist.
  7. It'd be a nice detail to add to the label on a pence-priced copy, such as one with a T&P stamp or a Marvel All-Colour Comic.
  8. Interesting Outer Limits episode, often considered to be one of the worst. I quite like it because it feels like an extended, live-action version of a Marvel Monster comic storyline.
  9. There have been quite a few threads about this topic in Comics General, so it's more predictable, stagnant, repetitious 'news' from Marvel.
  10. Static and Icon, back in the 90s, were great reads. There's already been some speculation on Static 1.
  11. Yup. It's been much too dry and intellectual, and could do with an infusion of random drivel. I'll get to work.
  12. I don't blame you. That was one of Andy Goldust's favourites too. Many an appearance in the Water Cooler. Great choice !
  13. Loquacious is a great word, which I like as much as ubiquitous.
  14. You beat me to it. I was going for the down-to-Earth, blue-collar, northern coal miners’ alternative of ‘Pip Pip, Old Bean !’
  15. It would be disappointing to lose that aspect, but lack of monetary value wouldn’t stop me collecting if it brought books back to real-world, ordinary, generally-affordable prices. I still care enough about the stories and art to believe I’d continue on at that modest price point. Although, there are many remastered comics I’d read preferentially, which are far superior-looking to the originals, but lacking in that aged, newsprint, old-school feel and odour. There would still be interesting choices to be made.
  16. I'm happy reading digital comics, and so if I could own one of every book I'm interested in, from GA onwards, I would also be happy with a cloned physical copy, especially from an ultra high grade source. As said, the only way it's feasible for those of us with extremely-limited budgets. I look forward to the development and perfection of replicator technology, and no longer being one bit in thrall to an inflated, monopolistic back issue market.
  17. And Viz Comic, especially for the Brits. For mockery and innuendo, on another level entirely to Mad magazine.
  18. Yup. As soon as I read that, I was alerted to the presence of a Brit. A newbie, I thought at first, but even better, a rare Gav sighting.
  19. I can relate to that. Exactly the same effect for me with the first two Lee / Ditko Amazing Spider-Man Pocket Books, as shown in the Comic Related Paperbacks thread.
  20. Actually didn't see that. Apologies for my lack of observation.
  21. Too many great Eisner Spirit covers in the Warren and Kitchen Sink runs.
