  1. Huzzah! http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/personalfinance/15-collectibles-that-are-now-probably-worthless/ss-BBDtZ5g?li=BBnb7Kz#image=8
  2. So I read one of those clickbait articles the other day about which collectibles are losing value. Along with the ususal suspects (Beanie Babies, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Stamps) they listed comic books. They gave a number of reasons, but the one that really jumped out at me was the assertion that the Boomers were cashing out, thereby flooding the market with tons of low to mid grade Silver and Bronze non-keys, causing the value of books to plummet. Anyone see any evidence of this? And if it were true, do you think demand is strong enough to absorb the coming inventory wave? P.S. -- This discussion is just for snarfs and giggles. We all know to collect what we love, and love what we collect.
  3. Thanks, Marwood! Although I'm a bit disappointed they don't exist, it is a relief to have fewer books to hunt for.
  4. Hey, Marwood&I -- I haven't been able to find any Bronze Age pence variants of Kid Colt or Rawhide Kid, but they do exist, right?
  5. Great books everybody. I have some pence variants, I should get around to scanning them at some point.
  6. Thanks, Jeffro! Hopefully they'll re-solicit it soon. I was pretty exciting about the unpublished material. I think I'll ask at the Dark Horse booth when I go to the NYCC this year.
  7. Web of Horror archive? I could swear that not too long ago Dark Horse was taking about publishing a harcover collection of Web of Horror 1-3, along with material from the unpublished 4th issue. But the archive collection seems to have disappeared from the interwebs. Does anybody remember else remember hearing about this, or know what happened?
  8. Wasn't there a "show us your pence books" thread on the boards somewhere, at some point in time?
  9. Wow, that's a hell of a book, congrats!
  10. I haven't posted in this thread in awhile, mostly because I've not been focused on war books these days. But, I did pick up these two last October at the NYCC, and today I finally got around to reading them. I've been looking for a higher grade copy of OAAW 165 for some time before giving up. I'm glad I finally got one, the Iron Major is such a great character.
  11. Thanks! I spent quite a long time searching for a decent copy. That DC 100 pager is pretty groovy!
  12. Here are my pick-ups from last October's NYCC (all from Dale Roberts) and a few books I picked up from comics4less on eBay last year. I'm having trouble finding white covers that aren't tanning!
  13. I gotta pay more attention to the sales threads around here!
  14. Sweet haul! I always liked that Falling in Love 121 cover. I thought it was Mortimer, but GCD suggests DeZuninga! Young Love 79 has some great Alex Toth artwork. It's part of a serial that also runs through Secret Hearts. Were these from that eBay seller nationalartifact in Montclair, NJ?
  15. I don't have many scans of many of my Wrightson books, but I do have a handful to share. I was pretty psyched to finally find a high grade copy of this a few years back. Back Issue magazine used this for one of their covers recently. I was reproduced to magazine size and looked great. One of my all time favorites. I'll see if I can dig out my Jonah Hex #9 tomorrow, I always thought it was cool Bernie did a western cover. Too bad he didn't do one for Weird War Tales.
  16. The speculators move on to something else. Of course, then the hobby would probably collapse.
  17. http://www.newsfromme.com/2017/01/30/dan-spiegle-r-p/ Weird, I'm currently reading his Mister E series in Secrets of Haunted House right now.
  18. I dunno, guys, this story sounds like it also could have been in any one of the Gold Key titles out at the time, too. Ripley's, Boris Karloff, etc.
  19. That plastic building on page 2 -- is that Ghostbusters stuff?
