    1. Since when do light sabers no longer kill anyone?  In Disney Star Wars, I have seen way too many people get run through and not die.

The thing that bothers me about this moment is not that [the character] doesn't die (def did not want that under any circumstance), it's that there are 5 million options they could have went with. How is it possible that Filoni was unaware of this same s*** happening in Obi Wan? I know he didn't have any substantial/credited involvement in that show but you'd think he'd be aware of all the productions and someone at SW Story department would have flagged it. [The character] could have had a Finn slash or something. It was an unneeded cliffhanger.

That I absolutely agree with.  Another board member texted me this morning and asked, "I need to watch those essential clone wars and rebels episodes to appreciate Ashoka?"

    My response?  "Yeaaah"

There is no way around it.  This really is going to be a continuation of Filoni's overall story.

I think any general SW fan can enjoy "Ahsoka" without TCW/Rebels -- to a good degree. There are probably a lot of people more hung up on the fact that half the audience knows more than them and thus puts them in a mindset that it cannot be enjoyed enough without it. Now, if it were me who had never seen the animated stuff these two eps would have had me running back immediately to check them out, but I am predisposed to love all this.

  2. Thought the first 2 eps were a real mixed bag. For every one thing I dug there were like two things I was iffy-to-upset about. My expectations were tempered -- never thought it would compete with "Andor" in the writing department (unfair to expect that imo) -- but I was confident that these characters, some of my absolute favorites in all of SW, would be brought to live action with extreme care considering their daddy was calling the shots.

Well, that confidence was crumpled within the first 20 minutes and sadly it did not un-crumple by the end of the 2nd episode (even though we got some good Hera and Chop near the end).

Don't like to trash talk or dwell in negativity with SW. Glad most fans seem to be happy so far. I hope the show finds a groove as the series progresses so I too can be happy!

I would not complain to much. This was a cover she did not originally allow to be signed as it contained her likeness without consent/permission.  I sent it in originally and it was denied early on. I now have it signed but feel it’s still a cover she is not happy with, so to have one is still a rarity.

Weird, because it doesn't even look like Clarke -- like at all! Wonder if she just didn't want to sign a book where her character wore hair for a bra.

  4. Canceling a sale is pretty heinous move -- don't post unless you have a grip on thevalue. If the reasoning is that they found out it was worth 50x more than they posted it for then ok, I get it, but don't these DCU logo variants mostly sell for a few hundred max in 9.8? Are they just dream-pricing here?

...I have begun selling more on shortboxed than ebay and at a comparable pricing. The best part of all, it's only a 10% commission vs ebays 16% due to fees on transaction, shipping, and taxes and shortbox covers the shipping cost out of the 10% fee. They are now allowing raw sales for books over $25.

So you have sold books at same listing price as you would have on ebay? Have you accepted offers? If the fees are less wouldn't you expect the asking price to also be less? Like I mentioned earlier -- at least in my experience -- the books I'm looking for are never listed at a lower price than the bay. Anecdotal, admittedly!

I was a beta users on short box and have never gotten an offer ever.

I like the shortboxd app and basically only use it for their handy historical sales data which goes much further back than ebay's 90 days. Would definitely be down to make a purchase there, but two things: 1) I have never seen a listed price on boxd below the lowest ebay price, and 2) have never received a response off a single offer. Don't understand how the app still exists.

My exact thought. Seems like a fun game to keep playing! You know the $25 is fine. To ship it back to me will be half of that and then I need to resell. If it ends here, then so be it. Lesson learned.

Did you check if has left negative feedback for sellers in the past? I'd eat the return shipping and force the return because this is the exact ploy they use to milk sellers -- threaten a return, usually for an amount that the seller would consider "an acceptable loss."

  8. 7 PRESCREEN MODERN

    Delivered: 7/10

    Received: 7/24

    Quality Control: 7/28

I think this is the first time my cc has been charged before "Shipped" status -- certainly the first time I've noticed it. Weird number, $171. I assume only 5 passed the screen but that total doesn't math with any combination of slabbed/rejects. Unless the reject fee went down a buck.

Marvel sends you a list of artists that are preapproved to do covers and will tell the retailer the artists rate. Some are a lot more than others - most are included in the already established price. So if they said they wanted a cover from Dell'otto, Marvel would have done the entire run around with getting the cover done and produced. So its very possibly that Marvel didn't reach out to Dell'otto and just reused artwork they already had.

Interesting. So Marvel is the middle man throughout the entire process? The retailer always orders, "1 cover for issue x from artist x, please!" and Marvel handles everything? The retailers have zero influence? Do you know how this process works with DC and Image?

You trust him because why if I may ask?

Likely Marvel gave him the artwork. Not Dell Otto.

Eh...I trust him to shoot relatively straight on what happened. I don't take him to be outright stupid, which is what he'd have to be if he thought nobody would ever dig out that international cover.

Did he talk to Dell'otto who was like yes I am drawing a new cover for you.

Yeah, that's what baffles me. Up to now I always presumed that retailers hashed out the proposed cover with the artist they commissioned for an exclusive to some degree. I want to believe it's some kind of lost in translation situation where Dell'otto showed some spider-man covers to Bry and he happened to choose one that was used in another market. I trust Bry enough to disclose what went wrong in the process.

And I don't see how this doesn't impact on desirability of this book.

I'm easily lured by internet drama, this was a freaking trip. Wish I was on the boards throughout that. What a piece of work, that dude. This was especially amusing:

PS This whole thing reminds me of what happened with Gina Carano on twitter (the girl from Mandalorian) A good person who means well, with people that actually know her that know she’s a good person, but the internet peoples go after her like wolves to meat.
