  1. Centaurman, I guess that I don't understand how this thread works. Where do I look to find the books you are selling? I didn't see anything in the Market Forum.
  2. for Win. This Adventure is a bit later than the books I usually focus on, but I love the Kirby Sci Fi cover:
  3. When will the Weird Windex be completed? I would love to see it.
  4. Gorgeous copy Ciorac. That is one of the nicer copies I have seen; most copies are beat up because of the poor quality paper stock cover. It must have been Filter's undercopy because, last I heard, he had the census-topping 9.2 copy. That Walt Kelly splash page, by the way, is Kelly's first published work in comics.
  5. I really like the covers on the early Whiz Comics. They have a much different feel from the covers one would ordinarily associate with Captain Marvel.
  6. I'm guessing that you are referring to #27 (I am looking for that issue too). But although there has not been a #27 for sale for some time (which is what makes it score high in the Windex rating), it is my understanding that most Adventure completionists have it in their collections already. But, as always, this is an interesting topic worthy of further discussion.
  7. What a shame that wasn't published. It would have been one of the best covers ever. Where did you find it?
  8. I would take the Batman over both without hesitation, even though it looks like it was pressed.
  9. Win, what a gorgeous book, congratulations! Out of curiosity, how would you grade it and how is the page quality?
  10. Great post. I have never seen or even heard of the "Superwoman" ashcan with the More Fun 73 cover. Where did you get that scan?
  11. Very nice Ciorac. I have never before noticed the neat back cover.
  12. Mark, that is a very nice copy of a very rare book. Where did you get it? Is it unrestored?
  13. Nobody could look at that set and not want to start collecting Planets!!
  14. What I like about your Fight 29 Steve, is that it is a beautiful copy that I am absolutely certain has not been pressed to its potential.
  15. Beautiful book Adam. I love the artwork, and the colors are so rich it looks like you bought it off the stand last week.
  16. The Funny Pages obviously has a much more dramatic cover. But the unique aspect of the More Fun 37 is that it is one of only 3 Church books that say "Church" on the cover (the other 2 being Action 1 and New Adventure 26). For avid Church collectors, this adds to the MF's desireability, and makes it a tough call for me. RHG
  17. Hey! Hey YOU! Is that the Larson copy?? <cue best James Cagney voice> "Why you dirty rat....) Cosmic Aeroplane, not Larson. And it's available.
  18. Congrats 143ksk. What caused you to take the plunge into new waters?
  19. For a lower priced book in a mainstream DC title like Adventure, 4x to 5x Guide would be typical for a 9.6 Church copy. But for higher priced books like this one, there is more of a price resistance. Having said that, 3x Guide for that book would not be unreasonable at all.
  20. That is a truly remarkable price. I have been tracking the prices paid for pre-hero Detectives over the last couple of years, The low and mid-grade copies consistently sell for 1.5 to 2.0 Guide, and the high grades go for even more. Congrats!
