  2. It’s all a matter of degree, though, isn’t it? There have always been classic covers, yes, but I don’t think the amount of collecting focus placed on covers has ever been greater. I stand by the comment.

  8. I am convinced that international collectors are drawing off more books from the market. Prices on Heritage bulk lots in the Sunday auctions have really run up in the last three years.

  10. Yeah, I had 52 slow boat books arrive last week that were received at CGC on Feb 15.
  11. These books had print numbers that were large by today’s standards. They are functionally scarce, though. Why? Because sellers, both LCS’s and show dealers, don’t prioritize them for sale or display. So they are out there, but they are languishing in collections and stock boxes. There are a lot of books like this that I have, but haven’t felt are worthy of lugging to shows.

  13. Frankly, the market decides. Enduring popularity, and all that.
