  1. I was fine with the original movie, so Snyder cut is not a big deal to me. I watch the hero films for entertainment, not some deeper meaning, and enjoy most of them. My gut feel is that the Snyder cut will be like Black Panther or Civil War - lots of hype that the movies do not live up to in the end.
  2. With the way they are handling things now, it may be a big IF whether they have the technical bugs worked out on the international streaming service in time for release of the Snyder Cut.
  3. Sounds like CC cherry picked the good stuff and left him with the . Like I said earlier in this thread, the majority of the books are just common 50s drek with little to no collectible value. They are slow to move in $2 bins, so dumping them via an auction house and hoping to find a few suckers to pay more than that is a good approach. In the end, they will end up in long boxes for $50 - $100 per box.
  4. There is a reason that AT&T lags its peers in standing with the investment community, and it all comes down to the management team. That being said, now is a good time to load up on cheap shares with a nice dividend before they actually get the streaming stuff sorted out.
  5. So, not the $100,000 windfall he was likely expecting then............ Looking at some of the grades, CC is having to stretch every single millimetre they can to make a decent return. This collection was overgraded badly at the start as there were no NM books in it from what the pawn shop owner showed in his videos. Check out this "VF+" Gene Autry #5 that CC has up. Last time I checked, varmit chewed off corners are not allowed in FN, let alone VF+: https://www.comicconnect.com/item/895731
  6. In the end, only 3.6M new direct subscribers. Vast majority of numbers that were reported were just people who now have ability to access it through cable packages, but not certain anyone is actually using it yet. Looked like window dressing or lipstick on a pig attempt.
  7. So that means a handful of new subscribers? I am just kidding. The issue for AT&T when it launched HBO Max was two-fold: 1) most of its content was already licensed to other streaming platforms, and 2) they had a very limited USA only launch for their streaming platform so international subscribers were excluded. In both cases, they would have been better off to wait until next year to launch a full service with more content back in their control. There is a reason AT&T management does not have a great rep.........
  8. Even $30M is a waste of money unless they see a deluge of new subscribers to HBO Max. I don’t think they will, since most Snyder fans in the USA will have already signed up for it on the announcement. Now, if they banked the $30 or $70M in new subscriptions the two weeks following the announcement it could make sense, but based on the latest numbers they released, that was likely not the case....... https://www.google.ca/amp/s/techcrunch.com/2020/10/22/hbo-max-hits-28-7m-subscribers-in-q3-but-few-are-over-the-top/amp/ It amazes me that AT&T can’t get its streaming service up and running globally at this stage of them game.
  9. So, they need to drop another $70M on the Snyder Cut to make it watchable? Ouch. I think this is one where the final product may not meet the expectations/hype built into it. That is a lot of cash for finishing touches on a TV/streaming release. This may be a money loser in the end unless there are enough Snyder fans willing to sign up for HBO Max to justify it. #anotherpoorfinancialdecisionbyWB
  10. It will definitely start out well, but I wonder how long it can maintain those prices. I have been told by a LCS owner friend that IDW apparently sent in a print order of 130,000 before all FOC orders were tallied, so all orders are being shorted cover A as a result. However, it sounds like the ratio variants and store variants (apparently 65+?) did not get affected. There should be plenty of copies to go around.
  11. I would have loved to see Ben Kingsley back as Mandarin, or have a cameo where he passes the real Mandarin on the street, they look at each other for a sec, do a head nod to acknowledge, and then keep going.
  12. It depends on the value of the book, and how much you have into it.
  13. I am curious to see how long the Last Ronin 1 hype can hold prices up. Sounds like the print runs are extremely high on it for a TMNT book.
  14. That is a nice Artgerm cover. Add in a likely low print run, and you have a winning combination.
  15. They have always been popular with Batman collectors. The GA 1st apps are out of reach for most, so the SA 1st appearances are where the action has been the past couple of years. Batman #155 (Penguin) is lagging Batman #171 (Riddler), but both have seen nice gains, and before that it was Batman #121 (Mr. Freeze) and #181 (Poison Ivy). I would put the order as Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Penguin and Riddler ( or maybe Luthor instead of one of these two) as the top 5 most recognized DC villains. Personally speaking, I think Ivy is underrated as her popularity has increased due to the Harley animated series and cosplay.
  16. I have some bias here as a Batman collector, but Luthor kind of sucks compared to the big Batvillains. Braniac is the top Supes villain IMHO, but he is not as well known as Lex.
  17. From a DC comic book collector perspective, maybe Darkseid makes the top 5 list. Even then, as a DC collector I would still go with Batvillains. From a general public perspective, it would be Batvillains (+ maybe Luthor) in the top 5. Everyone knows the Batvillains from TV, movies and animated series. On the Marvel side, it would be Magneto + Spidey villains as most popular with the general public. Doctor Doom came off as a weak threat in the FF movies.
  18. My recent favorite is MSH 13 - 1st Carol Danvers. It peaked at $12K for 9.4s, and they sell for under $4k now.
  19. It is amazing what meeting customer service expectations can do..............
  20. Based on what? It is moving up in GPA the past two months from the look of things, along with most 1st appearances/keys.
  21. I will have to check out the animated films. The live action sequel was a b-level flick with the nudity and sex scenes for bug transmission.
  22. Despite the horrible acting and the fact it bombed at the box office, Starship Troopers is one for me. If you thought the first one was bad and you really have nothing better to do, check out the sequel.
