I guess they could say the time travel in Endgame changed a few things, or maybe someone else used the quantum zone to save her?

There must be something up for Blade based on the recent comic appearances.

Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
kimik replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Hopefully the Sandman excitement lasts longer than Preacher did. -
The dealer had it at VF+, but it looks lower than that to me. We will see what CGC says. There are a lot of scuffs on the mylar that are showing up in the picture that are not on the book. It is a clean copy, but there is some creasing in the tip of the bottom right corner that will drop it as well as a couple of color breaking spine dings/creases. I am curious to see how it turns out.

THE SUICIDE SQUAD directed by James Gunn (2021)
kimik replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I am not disputing it was profitable, just that a movie with the DC Trinity could not top $1B = failure when the Marvel ensemble Avengers movies all topped $1B, including the turd of Civil War. Do you really believe that WB/DC Cinema execs were happy with $873M for a WW box office total after seeing the results from the first two Avengers films and Iron Man 3? And, as I discussed in the Venom thread re: Aquaman, those numbers you posted for BvS profitability are low. They received at least $35M in public support for filming in Michigan: https://www.michigancapitolconfidential.com/20651, and there were plenty of product placements in the film. Based on the numbers presented there, it looks like 32% of production costs in Michigan (estimated $131M) were covered by grants. The film also received subsidies and or tax credits in other states.- 802 replies

THE SUICIDE SQUAD directed by James Gunn (2021)
kimik replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I guess I should have said critical dud, but it still underperformed at the box office. Expectations were $1B+, and it did not hit it. Regardless, the movie viewing public made it clear that they did not overly care for the Snyder approach to the DCU.- 802 replies

THE SUICIDE SQUAD directed by James Gunn (2021)
kimik replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
Snyder is part of the reason it flopped as well with BvS and then Justice League. While I was fine with them due to the darker tone, and being a Batman fanboy, both films were box office duds due to the approach he took with the tone and story to begin with.- 802 replies

How much money are studios making off those licensed products?
kimik replied to Bosco685's topic in The Movie Forum
I heard a commentary on MLB vs NFL licensing licensing revenues during a local sports show a couple of months ago, and a lawyer who reps companies for both said that MLB has tighter legal control over its licensing, especially anything online/streaming. According to him, that is why it makes more than the NFL even though the NFL is by far the more popular sports league. -
Are any boardies coming to this from out of town? We will be looking at a boardie dinner on one of the nights.

And, by calling it HBO Max, instead of something new, they will likely have the vast majority of HBO Go (or whatever) subscribers just upgrade the subscription. Looking at the stable of properties they have, it is probably worth $25 per month. We will be dropping Netflix for the HBO Max and Disney/ABC streaming services since the content we consume for the most part will be there instead.

Looking forward to another fun Edmonton Expo. I will be blowing out a ton of stuff at the show this year as I continue to pare down my collection/funny book stash.

If this show can match what they did with Season 4 of Lucifer on Netflix, or how American Gods has panned out on Starz, then it should be a fun ride. Hopefully this leads to Netflix or DC streaming adopting more of the Vertigo titles for ongoing series. There are other fun titles they can pursue. Something like 100 Bullets could be a wild ride and should be relatively cheap to produce.

Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay

Nice. I was planning to blow out my Sandman run + multiples at the spring shows this year but was too lazy at the time to grade and price them. Looks like it paid off. -

If it follows the regular spec pattern, you just have to wait a month or two and the 1st prints will be back at or below cover.... -
Anyone find nice deals on key CGC comics at conventions?
kimik replied to Gruson's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Yes. If you drop by the Clobberin Time booth at the Edmonton or Calgary Expos, thehumantorch and Artboy99 are behind the market in pricing some of their keys. -
Official Canadian Newsstand Cover Price V****** Thread
kimik replied to davidpg's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
I am going through some old long boxes now and rebagging/reboarding the better books, and I did not realize that this was a CDN newsstand copy when I was pulling them before for some reason.
