  1. Wow. I really need to pay more attention to the prices on CDN variant keys now. I can't believe that a FN/VF Batman #423 hit $126.50. I have been turning my nose up at low to mid grade copies for years. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BATMAN-423-FN-VF-CANADIAN-NEWSSTAND-PRICE-VARIANT-CLASSIC-MCFARLANE-COVER/122951190398?hash=item1ca076477e:g:P~IAAOSwAU5aW9MT
  2. The other three. Unless you are a boomer that grew up with the FF as the key of the Marvel Age in the early through mid 60s, the FF will have sucked for the majority of your comic reading lifetime.
  3. Agree 100% with you. Woody was awesome in NBK (and in Zombieland) and would be perfect as Cletus Kasady.
  4. Yeah, it was heavily bought by LCSs back in the day because 1) Leifeld was a hot artist and more importantly 2) as a LCS owner who has owned his store since 1985 explained to me three years ago when he pulled a case of NM 98s out of storage, every store in town was speculating on cases of McFarlane, Lee, Leifeld, etc. books back then since it cost him just $0.625 CDN per copy at half cover (cover price was $1.00 US or $1.25 CDN for NM 98) for a book that you could sell through easily for $2 - $4 or more a week after release.
  5. No, my point was that the print run does not matter as long as the demand is there to drive price.
  6. And when will that be? For the past 5 - 7 years I have seen the hobby getting younger as being a "comic nerd" becomes mainstream. Comic collecting is going the way of other hobbies - keys/classic covers/1st apps are all that matters. The day of the run collectors is coming to an end, but the best material will continue to be sought after.
  7. Just like we used to say about NM #98, and before that Hulk #181 and GSX #1..............as long as the Red Goblin sticks around for a while this book will do fine long term.
  8. Just read the spoilers online. Which issue is the key one will be fun to figure out.
  9. He definitely has a nice touch with Black Cat covers.
  10. It is nice to see that picking up small stacks of #194 and #265 over the past few years will finally pay off thanks to the movie speculation.
  11. Real speculators bought 100 at a big discount and got the 1:100 Ross Virgin Variant at the same discount to top it off.
  12. I am not in the picture as I will never be a Flames season ticket holder..........................
  13. I can see why he thinks that. Here are some longstanding Calgary Flames' season ticket holders.
  14. Kimik will only be charging $80 for his signature series like Liefeld at Calgary Expo. Get ready for the photo op by putting mousse in your hair. $80 is way too cheap for my signature........
  15. Is that Swamp Thing or Sasquatch the morning after a St. Patty's day all nighter?
  16. There are plenty of OO and assembled HG collections in Canada. We see a few surface every year here in Alberta. I am primarily a collector but have been selling at shows locally since 1998 when I was in university (and on yahoo auctions and eBay since 1998) to get rid of the books I did not want from collection purchases, and there are plenty of HG books circulating. The difference now is that there are a much larger number of collector/dealer types like me chasing them so most of the HG books either end up in their collections or are sold online/via auction houses for $USD.
  17. Looks like it was a weak weekend across the board for new movies domestically. I wonder how much the start of spring break and people getting away for the weekend hurt box office results?
  18. +1 It is the most significant BA Batman book. Classic Adams artwork + 1st app of a major villain.
  19. A huge success for me will be if the movie hits the $500M mark globally. That would be on par with lesser Marvel character first movies and a success for the DCU.
  20. I agree with CC on this one. Right now BP is still doing well at the BO and all of the buzz right now is for Avengers Infinity War. Look at DP 2 - it is getting lost even though it has a closer release day. Wait until things die down later in the year and then release it when you have less competition from other comic-flicks.
  21. That was the price for Greggy. PM if you are interested a few copies and we can work something else out.
