  1. I have no clue if anyone is CGC witnessing this one.
  2. Just saw that my latest group of moderns shipped. There were 9 Hughes covers in the mix - all books that I felt were lower grade copies compared to the five I posted a few pages back. I hit 6 7 x 9.8, 1 x 9.6 and 1 x 9.2 (grader note: color run/manufacturing error right center of front cover ). WTF? Don't get me wrong, I am happy with the grades, but there is a 9.8 copy of #74 in this group that looked weaker raw than the 9.4 I got with the first go round.
  3. Blasphemy! The Marvel fanboys will be out in full force for you not picking Winter Soldier or Civil War as your favorites!
  4. I hope he turned that down and said $100M per film.
  5. I wonder if Craig will top the $50M+ he reportedly made for Spectre with this one? Personally, I hope he gets $100M for it. That is an obscene amount for an actor, but that would be a good reason to walk away and then come back.
  6. Just landed a new higher grade (i.e. not high grade = 9.6 or 9.8) copy in a collection that cost $0.65 per book (or a bit less - I am estimated 11 crammed totally full longs at 250 books = 2750 books). It will be off to Sarasota next week.
  7. It is not a 9.4, hence the gift grade. I have seen strict 8.0s that look better over the years.
  8. The FF #1 9.0 looks nicer than the JIM #83 CGC 9.4. Even looking at a small scan there is no way that is a 9.4 with all of the spine creases, edge wear, and creasing upper mid right side of the front cover. If it was not a big SA Marvel key, it would be an 8.5. The Avengers #4 CGC 9.6 has multiple color breaking creases bottom of the spine on both the front and back covers that are visible in the small scan. A 9.6 book should not have that at all no matter how nice the rest of it looks. That being said, I subbed an IM #55 a couple of years ago for my LCS owner that came back as a 9.6 with even more spine dings than this so I am not surprised.
  9. I am surprised that the Avengers #4 hit 9.6 with the color breaking spine creases and tiny tear towards the bottom of the spine, and then more creasing and wear on the back cover in the same area. FWIW, it looks like a spine press realignment job......... Just looking at the Avengers #4 and JIM #83, I hope the bidders are buying the books and not the label as both look overgraded. I am hearing from others that CGC has tightened things up recently, so I guess that some of these books were graded before that?
  10. How the heck is that JIM #83 even a 9.4? The spine wear and creasing alone should drop it to 8.5 range at best (check out those three large ones in the lower part of the red hammer swing swoosh), then you have light color breaking handling creases middle right side, creasing/edge wear bottom of the spine, a tiny crease bottom right corner, and what may be the start of tanning/some other discoloration along the spine. Horrible gift grade. The FF #1 9.0 looks just as nice or nicer than this book.
  11. Very cool development! Now if they have White Walker versions of Euron and Baelish it will really be a fun run towards the end........
  12. Can you post a summary of what happens as a spoiler? I love watching a show before my wife does then calling out everything just before it happens while we are watching.
  13. So what you are really saying with regards to $800M worldwide is that.....................................it has a chance?
  14. I am curious to learn the fate of his niece, but I am also afraid to know. As cruel as Cersei can be, I think Euron takes depravaty up a notch or two.
  15. It could be BS, but I really hope it is Euron as the father. That would be hilarious after his comment alluding to her needing a man with two hands to Jamie.
  16. We will have to wait and see. He played a weasel in the second Maze Runner movie (my wife and I both called him Baelish when we watched it with my kids and they had to correct us ) that survived to scheme another day, and I am expecting the same for a while here. In the end, it will be Arya that kills him with the dagger, but not before he causes some chaos. They need to step up the game with Euron again. He is another great disturber on the show. What would be great is if Cersei slept with him after he won the naval battle and, if she really is pregnant, it is Euron that is the father and not Jamie. That would be hilarious!
  17. She is a threat to him controlling Sansa so he needs her out of the picture. I don't think that Little Finger will succeed, but the sisters may split apart.
  18. I liked this episode. Little Finger is trying to turn Arya against Sansa and it appears to be working. We need to see him and Euron every episode to keep the chaos rolling. It was also a fun one re: advancing multiple plotlines forward. I wonder if the Hound is the one who brings the undead or white-walker specimen to King's Landing? Maybe then he can kill off the Mountain? John with Drogon was a great scene as well. Does this mean that he will be mounting a dragon for the battle with the Night King at some point?
  19. Didn't Sam grab the Valerian steal that House Tarley had? If yes, which sword was it? I am curious to see what happens between him and his brother/father. They are supporting opposing sides.
  20. I have not seen GotG 2, but everyone I know that has seen both said that WW is the much better film. WW is trending like the first GotG did - word of mouth was the key to longer and larger gains.
  21. Agreed, but if you can save up a bit it is better to own both.
