  1. Hey guys sorry to interrupt, but my dad was a huge Superman / Batman fan and the main reason he started buying JLA was because it had both characters and others so he thought he was getting more for his money. His words. That’s why his earliest books were Superman. He also bought World's Finest for the same reason. Never thought about it but maybe JLA is what started him buying Flash and GL and that's why he didn't have the early issues or Showcase 4 or 22. But he did have Showcase 9 and 10 because of the Superman tie in. Just now thought of that. We now return to your regularly scheduled discussion (thumbs u Love the thread by the way.
  2. Please do! (As a side note, if anyone has any LOWER grade WDC&S they're looking to get rid of send me a PM. I'm collecting them, but not high grade stuff.) Going on vacation this coming week, the D23 Expo in Anaheim. But when we get back I've already discussed w/ my dad that we need to start unloading some of the duplicate copies we have. So I'll be working on that and getting a pic or scan together. So in the next 2-3 weeks I may have some books available and there not all high grade we did buy a lot of group lots at lower grades. 3. I think w/ the raw books, my dad and I are pretty close I'd have to check. With slabs still about 50% away. I could try and work on a pic. (thumbs u
  4. Been waiting for these to come in for a bit. Finally did today. (thumbs u
  5. Any early issues of GL or JLA? The Earliest GL I see is #24 and the JLA starts at #40. (thumbs u Thanks. I saw that. Do you still have the Showcase #22 or GL #1, 7, 8 and 9? Just curious as these are hot books, and I would not mind a chance at nice copies of them. Unfourtunatly we never had copies of these books. The 8 and 9 have already been sold. Sorry, stay tuned though I have some news that may cheer you up. (thumbs u
  6. Awesome books. How many more do you need? Working on the 1-263 set. Graded we need 137 more, Mostly ones below 100. We've got a bunch of raw stuff too that probably fills in more of the gaps, just havn't had a chance to inventory it yet. So I'd guess about 100 more. (thumbs u
  7. It’s what I’m currently working on. I’m trying to get 1-400 and I already had 86-400 by combining my dad’s collection w/ mine. Almost there I need 38 more books. Then I start the harder and more expensive task of Sidey 1-500. (thumbs u
  8. Just got these in today. Few steps closer to being done. (thumbs u
  9. Any early issues of GL or JLA? The Earliest GL I see is #24 and the JLA starts at #40. (thumbs u

  22. Sorry for the slow response Tim. Been kinda busy. I think it mainly has to due w/ point of sale. In the early days my dad would purchase the books from the confectionary were his mom worked, probably not a huge supply of books there. My dad did tell me he always picked the best copy he could get his hands on. Then I'm guessing as popularity grew the store got more books. As to the later books after his short break from collecting in college he started again while in the Air Force in Germany, so the books had to get all the way over there and then back in one piece. After he was transfered state side he was buying them at Dragon's Lair in Dayton, Ohio so supply to pick out the better books was good. Storage never really seemed to change as I've mentioned before, he had them all in polybags, no boards, in long boxes filled to the brim. Hope that helps. Be happy to answer any more questions.
