This is my personal run of the character. Lot includes Jungle Action #1-24, Black Panther #1-15 and Marvel Premiere #51-53. Most Jungle Action issues have been purchased from Todd Lange (zillaf4) throughout the years; most Black Panther issues have been purchased from board member etanick. Here are terms: People on the probation list, or that I may have on ignore, are not eligible to purchase. Raw books: All my raw books are unrestored and not pressed unless noted. Return policy: All my raw books are accurately graded and your satisfaction is guaranteed or your money back (except shipping costs) as long as books are returned in same condition as sent within 7 days of receipt. However, since I am selling these as lots, if you are not happy with the purchase of a lot, you will need to return all books in the lot. Shipping cost will depend of where you live and how you want your order to be shipped. Time payments are possible if that may help you. I do accept PayPal or international money orders.

Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...
pickycollector replied to PeterPark's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Avengers 83 isn't the first appearance of a character, just the first published depiction of a character's likeness - as portrayed by an impostor. You might as well just go full Ween. Really now, you haven't even read the issues you're discussing, have you? In all 3 of the first appearances, the Enchantress is the one to give the Valkyrie's likeness/personality/powers to each character. In Avengers 83 she used the likeness on herself against the Avengers. In Hulk 142, she used the likeness on Samantha Pennington to attack the Hulk. In Defenders #4, she again used it on Barbara Norriss to help her with the Defenders. What in the world is the difference? Avengers 83: 1st time Valkyrie's name is used? Check. First Valkyrie's likeness? Check. Prominent cover appearance? Check. Valkyrie's looks exactly the same as in every appearance over the next 30-40 years? Check. The same would be true then with 1st SA appearance of Captain America in Strange Tales 114.. Strange Tales 114: 1st time Cap's name is used in the Silver Age? Check. First Cap's likeness? Check. Prominent cover appearance? Check. Cap's looks exactly the same as in every appearance over the next 30-40 years? Check First appearance and "first SA appearance" are not the same thing? Check. -J. Actually I do consider ST 114 as the 1st SA Cap appearance. Point being? Everyone already knew (or should have known) who captain America was when they "brought him back" in the SA. There was therefore context to the "imposter appearance" in ST 114. The same cannot be said for Valkyrie which was actually a first appearance of the character, irrespective of the subsequent ret-con. -J. It does not matter. If there was a Valkyrie appearance in the Golden Age, we would have the same discussion except to discuss which comic is the first SA appearance of Valkyrie, same as Cap in ST 114 vs Avengers 4 -

Points are: Overstreet considers Avengers #4 as the 1st SA app. of Captain America, not ST #114. Avengers #4 worth much more than ST #114 -

If you compare Valkyrie with, let's say, a character like Ms Marvel for example, then Hulk 126 (1st Barbara Norriss) has the same importance as Captain Marvel 18 has (1st Carol Danvers) And yes, Defenders #4 should worth more indeed (1st Barbara Norriss as Valkyrie) -

How about Hulk 126,142 and Thor 200 then ? -
Which one came first, the Treasury size Marvel Special Edition #2 or Marvel Super Special #16 ?
-
Sorry if this was addressed before but what is considered as the first appearance of Boba Fett ? Is it Star Wars #42 or Marvel Comics Super Special #16 ? Publication date is Sept. 1980 for the first and Spring 1980 for the second. So if MCSS #16 is the 1st appearance, why does it not worth more ? Kind of Hulk #271 vs Marvel Preview #7 similar case ?

Thanks for the three PM recommendations! I finally bought an Epson Perfection V550 for less than $200, not legal size but doing great on raw books. Only problem I have compared to my old scanner is for CGC books, there is some kind of light glance at top, anybody knows how to fix this ? Here are examples:

All right, I know this thread does exist for years and I never did really read it as my old Agfa Snapscan 1212u was doing an excellent job on both raw and CGC books for the last 15 years but it died yesterday and I am now left without scanner. Anyone could recommend me a few good scanners that will work on Windows 7 and that I can buy in a store (like Best Buy, Staples, etc.)? I don't want to hunt for used scanners on eBay or Craiglist and it seems that most scanners recommended here are old ones. I don't want to pay above $400 either. Feel free to PM me and thanks in advance.

The centering and gloss on this copy are amazing, full stamp too. It took me a while to find such a lovely copy. A perfect example of "buy the book, not the label". -
