  1. I am getting zero results for a seller named fifties on eBay. Perhaps you could post a link to your items for sale? Thanks.
  2. I arrived home from vacation to find my DD 158 waiting for me. As I flipped through the pages, I was struck by two thoughts on Miller/Janson’s artwork at this early (first?) point in their collaboration: 1. The first interior page I have posted shows the very strong influence of Gil Kane in the fight scene figure drawing. I feel the influence of Kane tends to continue until Miller went over to DC. 2. The second interior page I have posted really reminds me of Colan and Palmer.
  3. Thanks for everyone’s input. I guess Kitchener/Waterloo is just a dry area for DD 158. I bit the bullet and bought a raw VF copy on eBay for ~$200 US with shipping.
  4. I have bought several raw books from Metropolis and was happy with all their advertised conditions.
  5. One of my 2023 collecting goals is to complete my run of Frank Miller DD, including 158. I realized that I don’t recall the last time I saw this book in the wild, in any condition. By contrast, I see Hulk 181 once or twice each year. But I have never seen a DD 158. I just followed an eBay auction where a CGC 8.5 copy sold for $155, so it doesn’t cost a goldmine. Have I just had uncommon bad luck and the rest of you routinely see this book? How long ago did you last see one at a store or a convention?
  6. I got four high grade Silver Age DCs from my wife for Christmas.
  7. Since I don’t see it here, I just want to make sure you also got the power ring?
  8. A deep felt thank you to Brian @CAMPER49 for the wonderful EC horror collection, She Hulk #1 and an action figure, the Ms Marvel Essentials, and a thumb drive of John Byrne comics! You knocked it out of the park Brian!
  9. That looks like a Gil Kane Manwolf to me. So either mid 70s ASM, or Manwolf’s solo tales?
  10. I recently picked up this hi grade TTA from Haganland Comics in Kitchener Ontario. It’s great Kirby on the cover, but Heck And Ditko do the interior art.
  11. Have been looking for this book in 8.0 or better for many years. There are many cheap, lower quality copies out there, but this is the first time I have seen one in the wild where the black cover is mostly unmarked. This comic was Ross Andru’s first Spider-Man art.
  12. I guess I would not say they are “still in my collection”, because I have re purchased NM a copies of any of these comics that I really liked. But I did indeed keep the comics I bought as a child in the mid 70s. I loved them to death, and read them so many times the covers fell off. But I still have them.
  13. I bought this comic as an 11 year old kid off the newsstand in 1976. I traded it, along with all my other new X-Men for a collection of Silver Age Green Lantern. I finally bought a copy back. At a glance, it seems nicer than it is on close inspection. It’s probably 5.0-6.0. Purchased at the Haganland Comic Warehouse in Kitchener, Ontario.
  14. PM sent. I did it once and enjoyed both the giving and receiving. Looking forward to exchanging gifts with one of my fellow Snow Mexicans.
  15. It’s really getting sad the way McFarlane keeps flogging this idea for another Spawn movie.
