  1. This is exactly the time period of books and type of rack that I first bought comics off as a child in the 70s.
  2. If the Warlock lot is still available, I only need the Strange Tales 181, and I live in Canada (seller said US shipping only). If that single issue can be listed by itself, and shipping to Canada is OK (paid for by me of course) I will happily add to this cause.
  3. Some high grade purchases today from the Comic Warehouse in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada.
  4. Gil Kane did some stunning covers for early Marvel Team-Up, and sometimes the interiors too:
  5. The Gold Key Star Trek photo covers were a master class in graphic design:
  6. Those covers by Wally Wood belong in the Louvre!
  7. Ben should know the very last people in the universe that you should ever mess with are telepaths with mind control.
  8. “Expensive” is of course a relative term. Some prices from Overstreet 2021-2022 for books in 9.2: Roy Rogers (Four Color #38). $4,500 Lone Ranger(Large Feature Comic #3). $4,400 And I am by no means an expert on westerns. Just repeating what I have heard from dealers.
  9. Not an individual issue, but I understand that Golden Age westerns have plummeted in value. Kids who were fans back in the 50s are retiring, trying to sell off their collections, but there is little interest from subsequent fans who were raised on sci-Fi comics (shades of Woody being over shadowed by Buzz) and superhero comics.
  10. I collect pretty much all the DC silver age superhero titles, and I look to complete runs in high grade. I have some lengthy runs, such as all of Green Lantern 1-89 except 7, around 60 consecutive issues of JLA, Batman, Detective, etc. But I virtually never see silver age Hawkman, and virtually never in raw 8.0 and higher. I only have 8 issues of Hawkman. Have I just randomly gone to stores and shows with poor Hawkman selection? Do any of you find Hawkman to be rare compared to the rest of your collection?
  11. I picked up some high grade DCs in my first time bidding on Comic Connect auctions:
  12. Hey, I’d love a job grading comics! Oh. Texas. Uggggggg. Just no.
  13. And Andru had help. Terry Austin helped draw backgrounds. And Neal Adams redrew some of the Superman faces.
