    My prediction is #4 - Risk, and #5 and 6 - Payday

Not very exciting news, but seems like the multipack back covers for #4-#6 are the same as their standalone counterparts.

I'm waaaaay behind on the Peacemaker train, but I just finished it and it was GREAT. The only thing better than finishing the first season was downloading all the 90's hair band songs from the show - which makes for a wicked awesome playlist.

My entire family jams to Monster (Reckless Love) every time it comes up in the playlist.  All our heads bob in unison.  I never knew glam rock was still a thing, and now it’s my go to playlist when I run.

I do not think this show is even GoT Season 7 or 8 quality. The only interesting part right now is that they have so many dragons and you know the battles will be coming. I guess that may change things.

Other than that, they rushed it too much with the timeline jumps and did not build the characters to the point that you care about any of them. At this point, I am just counting the episodes until they should all get killed off (or die of disease/old age in the case of a couple).

I'm right there with you.  While GoT certainly isn't known for virtuous protagonist characters without flaws, there doesn't seem to be one character in House of Dragons that has any redeemable qualities at all.  There's no one really to root for.  I find myself hoping they'll all fall off a cliff or get barbequed by the dragons.

  4. "Go Live" date for the CLZ and CovrPrice integration.  Though I debated on whether it was worth a joint subscription (need active subscriptions to both services), I went ahead and gave it a shot.  Update only took a few steps and looks like I'm getting comic values now.  Only thing that's giving me an error is syncing with CLZ Cloud.  Timing out on me thus far and not updating the Core database.  From a values perspective, I assume graded comics are pretty standard based on historical sales and some basic algorithm.  It's the raw books that I'm interested in seeing if values are in the ballpark at all.  As often said, comics are only worth what someone else will pay for them.  But it is rather rewarding to see book values ebb and flow even if only on paper (or in App) :)

I wish i was able to get the #4 in that collection which would have been the highest graded .That copy has not been graded to this day but it was a collection full of stunning books from a soldiers locker (thumbsu

Oh yeah, the #4 has such an awesome cover!  Would have loved to see a high grade copy.  You definitely scored a sweet #2 for me though, and that was the last hole in my run and so difficult to find.  Later the Mile High came up for auction and I just couldn’t resist adding a twin :) to my collection.

I only have two short G.A. War runs, but I'm proud of them: War Comics #1-4 & War Stories #5-8.

Amazing run!  :x  I have the full run as well and love ‘em!

Looks like you have file copies for #2, #5, #6, and #8, I have #3, #4, and #7.  So looks like we only need file copy of #1 to complete the set!

In Love 5. Rare Charlton book with a cover by Jack Kirby.

Structurally this a VG/F but could really use a good cleaning, particularly the back cover.

    $150.

I certainly don't need this, but love the Kirby cover.  Looks like it was used as a doormat (LOL), but the real beauty still shines through.  I can't help myself.  :takeit: @ 20% Off.

  8. Anyone ever try to collect all the Blue Bird shoes giveaways?  Charlton books (reprints) with a new (?) cover that were given away in a handful of shoe stores?  The cover art for most of these is cropped to fit in a store name across the top bar and are a bit underwhelming IMO.  The cover to Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds 18, however, is a really cool looking cover and better than the original.

  9. Fun thread to revisit.  Was the Photo Catalog ever organized differently somewhere, or is this thread the final compilation?

Also, question about Vooda 20.  I know it’s comprised primarily of reprint material from Seven Seas 6 and the art was “re-worked” to reflect a jungle theme (and conform to comics code).  The cover seems to be a swipe of the splash page from Seven Seas 6, but the face is different.  Did Baker do the modifications to the art himself, or was it done by someone else?

Good to hear.  Peacemaker has been a breath of fresh air in a time of over-saturated superhero shows/films.  It’s hard to find something original enough to break through the mold, and Peacemaker has been probably the best original concept from DC that separates itself from even most of the Marvel stuff of late.

So basically what you are telling people is that they are better off reslabbing the books that have these notations on the slab and submitting them to auction houses to sell, so the unassuming public can by these defect books and the sellers can maximize their profits when they go to sell.

Right now I feel like a sucker for never buying books with missing pieces or cutouts or things like that because there is now a killing to be made on books that have that.  No need to CPR the book, just crack and resubmit.  Stick it in the auction and get more than you would have.  The cost of slabbing on a few things is well worth the price.

I have bought three graded books this year.   The more I see go on in this hobby the less I seem to buy.

I think you’re spot on with the other intended consequence.  CGC not only drives additional membership $s to look up grader notes, but the reslab $ activity will increase as owners/sellers want to get their books out of slabs with obvious stated defects into slabs that have no notation to make it easier to sell to the uninformed public.
