  1. I happen to think that's a great cover. Yeah, but your English. His English what? My Little Pony. HIJACKING IN PROGRESS - All thats left to make it official is Graemlins from Gre... Nah, he's right....back to the business at hand - more recently acquired pedigrees. I've changed for the better!

  4. I happen to think that's a great cover. Yeah, but your English. Seriously though, completely ridiculous cover. How does Galactus turn his head with those "horns" hitting him in the shoulders? The Galactus "skirt" never looked funnier than in that cover. It's artistic license!! It's pop art, dammit!! It's not supposed to be realistic......perspective be damned! Isn't that what distinguishes good artists from bad artists?

  6. It's amazing Kirby is considered in such high regard when he put out covers like that Thor #168. Yuck.
  7. I didn't know how many you had...I finally got around to scanning the book. Nothing personal. It's just the last few times I have posted after this thread had dropped, somebody else posts a couple books after me. Just a little peeve right now.

  13. Many thanks to SFILOSA for a having a great sale, even though I missed out on most of the goodies he was offering. I did manage to sneak in a bid for some BA Iron Man issues. Thanks.
  14. He knows quality when he sees it... Jim Were you scared as a little tot when you read the story initially? Never read it as child... Jim Where you scared when you read it last night? No. But this still gives me nightmares... Jim
  15. I agree with this BOC, except the 100 pagers, those are tough in HG, I didnt see all of Sid's haul, but I didnt see a HG 100 pager BA horror book in Pov's possession, I know I didnt get one. Between the 3 of us, I'm pretty sure we scoured the show floor pretty thouroughly for BA horror. Unless Ewert nabbed em on Thursday, or they changed hands between dealers. That's true, I don't think I saw any high grade horror 100-pagers above VF+ or so. The spines and edges on those books are so prone to damage by regular readers. Same thing with the dollar books, very likely to have dinged spine corners. Most of my haul consisted of regular 36 page issues along with some of the early 70s 52 pagers. I did buy one Unexpected 100-pager (can't remember the # off hand - black cover w/skeletons playing poker I think) but that one was probably just a VF, decent but no gem. I also discovered Star Spangled War Stories. I had never even heard of that series before, but it appeared to be in the same vein as Weird War, although I am guessing they are full length stories focusing on a main character. I'm not even sure, I didn't even look through them yet, just inspected for grade, but they are also from the same period and are pretty cool. As jbud mentioned, Jason probably grabbed any decent 100-page books. It seems like his latest thing now.
  16. 6/66........... sign of the devil! Better burn it! 03/08/66 ? Sorry, but I only look at the label. Sweet Strange Tales collection, Baklo. label-whore.

  18. Very nice GR book Baklo. How did you acquire it, (i.e. Ebay, Heritage, etc.)?
  19. Probably not, but if there is a lack of attendance, then there may not be a show at all. It's kinda nice to at least have the option of a local con.
  20. It had the same feel as it normally does. The show has been declining for several years now. The same stale vendors and the increase in porn really made it seem shady. He is attempting to switch to a bi-monthly event where he can focus more on quality, so he plans on having bigger name guests and more national dealers. So this past Sunday he had John Romita Jr. signing stuff, CGC was accepting submissions, and Harley was there. I think it may be a slow evolution if it does increase in quality.
  21. I didn't have enough to buy the others he had.
  22. Nice pick ups, DL. You don't see the Sgt Fury 42 very often. But, er, what pedigree are these from? Green Rivers red date stamp on all three.
  23. You think I should go higher than $300 each?
