  1. It's like these things are growin on trees, I tells ya!
  2. There were a few people hyping FPS 7 a while back due to the cover and making the claim that it was rare. Shortly thereafter OS pegged it as rare. There was hype.
  3. FPS 7 isn't any rarer than the rest of the run. In fact, I probably see more of it than any other number other than #1. Another victim of hype. A-Man 5 is rare in decent shape and unrestored.
  4. Then Jerry Weist had another copy shortly after.
  5. There's a similar book with an AMF cover that was unique. I can't recall details now, I think Mark Wilson turned it up. I had a chance to buy it back in the 90s, but passed. The FPS laundry giveaway is very rare. I'd wager the Khaki Komics is a remaindered/rebound thing, and not published by Centaur, but that's only a guess.
  6. how bad is the insides/back cover for that to be a 5.0? It's got a big stain on the top of the back cover. Cat pee?
  7. Fred Kida. It's much more detailed artwork than what I'm generally accustomed to seeing from Kida during this period. Was someone giving him an assist? GCD and atlastales.com only credit Kida. I can't get a handle on Kida from this period at all. All the chiaroscuro in these examples looks more like Toth than anything. I can't nail down any 'typical' style for him. But I do find that Kida had some really nice detailed pieces with Atlas. For example:
  8. That is all I am collecting these days. 1950-55 dcs! Sweet. I'll take that MMC 46 off your hands.
  9. The pixels on the comics are larger than other pixels in the photo I think your right. No they're not. It just looks that way because the comics have more variation in contrast.
  10. No need! Now they have devices that cure hysteria in the comfort of your own home. (thumbs u Soooooo much innuendo. I don't even know where to start!
  11. I don't have a ton of westerns to do a good comparison, but the code didn't seem to affect the quality of the stories nearly as much as it did with war.
  12. And while we're on the topic of great Atlas books, this one has a lineup that's hard to beat... Heath cover, with Davis, Crandall, Baker, Wildey, and a Williamson text story!
  13. Battle 26 is one of my faves. It's one of a handful of Heath covers with a light blue background that's almost impossible to find without tanning. I was very lucky to find my copy.
  14. That was awesome. No way you could pull that off today. Good luck finding a comic geek that can run up a flight of stairs... The fight in the back of the truck was epic. I'd love to see the outtakes.
  15. How hard are the Snafus to find? I've never seen one but they've been added to my Want List recently. I honestly can't say. I just saw them pop up on ebay and nabbed them both for under a hundred bucks IIRC. Seemed way too cheap for what they were. I recall seeing Pussycat a lot more than Snafu, but I don't know if that's just recognition bias.
  16. Looks like a whole lotta fun Maneely in that one! I just picked up Snafu 1 & 2 which are chock full of his humor stuff.
  17. Bucky is usually described as d___less, but yes, his neck looks lacking also.
  18. Why haven't you been doing this more?
