  1. Williamson? I'm terrible recognizing anyone other than Heath. But it does look like Colan, no?
  2. Check out Marvel Family 77, there's another in the 70s (maybe 75?) that also had a commie on the cover. Thor seemed to fight the Commies early on (Journey into Mystery in the 80s & 90s). Captain America 76-78, Submariner 33-3842, Human Torch 35-38 are others. I think Plastic Man & Doll Man strayed into anti-commie themes toward the end of their runs as well. One issue you may run into is that, at the time Communism was becoming recognized as a threat to the public (1950s), the super hero was fading away. It would help to know if you're limiting this to the super-hero genre as well. If not, there are hundreds of war books from the 1950s that would fit the bill. The titles you listed (and most of the other catechetical guild titles) are probably not going to be what you're looking for as they are more geared toward a "realistic" (at least in the authors minds) view of communism, more propaganda than fiction.
  3. 185 sounds awfully hot. Have you tried doing it with a lower temp? Looks like it's cockling a little bit.
  4. That book gets around (thumbs u That's what happens when you get around Ponsetti. Who is Ponsetti? You're so special I gave you an extra 't' for "thpecial"
  5. That book gets around (thumbs u That's what happens when you get around Ponsetti.
  6. I'd bet 90% of the extant copies of that book don't have the same colors. Great book.
  7. Scrooge, if any post ever deserved a - it's this. Thanks!
  8. I stopped my run at 25...maybe should have extended it a bit Last I heard #12 does fall in the first 25. The fact that it is cover dated June 26 shouldn't affect that. He's from Florida. They don't teach that revolutionary math stuff.
  9. FUELMAN PIZZ OFF!!!! You guy's are keeping me on a stupid list that I shouldn't even be on. You even state it in your WARNING picture. You say that I am on the list because I failed to complete a BOARD transaction. WRONG!!!!! I am on the list because of orders placed on my website. BIG FOKING DIFFERENCE!!!! You have a reach of rule here, but you don't on my website. Your list means NOTHING if you want to keep me on it. I shouldn't be on it. I have handled all board transactions. Since when did your list start to include things like other sites, or ebay, or garage sales? Exactly, it doesn't and shouldn't. When you start letting the list serve for other thing's that it was originally for, then it has lost it's purpose. AS IT STANDS!!! THERE IS NOTHING OUTSTANDING FROM A DEAL MADE ON THE BOARDS!!!!. You can keep me on the list, but in each sale thread I make I will point out my declaration about how I shouldn't be on it. You want to call me names etc, sure, fine, do it. But don't wave around the list when it's clear that you are making an exception for my inclusion. Then again, I am sure the boards really matter to you Fuelman, it's probably something you can't live without. Same goes for Diva. I am sure if you couldn't post on the boards both of you would be lost and alone without anything to do. Go play with your kids, get outside, you freaking dweebs. Hey, did anyone see that HOTFLIPS is having a killer sale on supplies? I strongly recommend you check it out. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3411390&fpart=1
  10. that shore is a pretty undercopy... I was thinking the same thing. His undercopy is better than most of my "upper" copies y'all ain't seeing the water-stained back cover of eldon's old book. Great book, Billy!
  11. Atlas is junk. Nobody should buy it. Junk, I tell you. (shhhhhhhhh, Mick)
  12. Bruce sold every Salida, most of the war right at the start. The Disneys took a while to go, but the war went quickly.
  13. I agree, very pedestrian. You really don't want that one, go ahead and send it my way. (... grumble grumble grumble... )
  14. love it, love it, love it. need it, need it, need it. Weird 2 & 3 seem to be exceptionally hard to find. There have been a few #2s floating around lately, but that's the first time I can recall it being available. I'd offer to trade you the Weird for something, but that would just make another hole in a run for you!
  15. Too bad you have drag down your collection with a sucky Fox book. I wish I could drag it down a lot more.
  16. I had the chance to look through that book last weekend. As far as GA books go, it really doesn't get much better cover to cover. 2 octopus stories (one by Hanks), another sea-serpent story, and another Hanks story with incredible robots.
