  1. I think it was a straight sale the second time. I was the underbidder at HA and I regret not being more aggressive.
  2. I think the most important thing about Goldin getting into the biz is not crypto, NFT, etc., but the fact that it's a whole new pool of buyers with a history of spending money on paper collectibles. To them Goldin is a tried and true seller of quality, and they feel comfortable spending with them. It's a huge infusion of collectors with money to spend and a willingness to spend it.
  3. Can you please post a close up of the top staple?
  4. The story about the buyers fighting is way more interesting than the OO.
  5. Korean war books. Based off of what I've seen there could be a few more. But from what's been released and certified, I wouldn't be surprised if those two were it. There could still be a War Comics 1, and there could be 1 or 2 ECs that would fall into that category.
  6. I've bought 3 books from the collection. Two were simply because they were exceptionally nice books that I've wanted copies of for a long time and this was the opportunity to get them. The third was a book that I needed for my collection, but was also one of only 2 books in the whole collection that had a unique tie to the back story. For that one I felt compelled to pay a premium for the story. But not really for any others. So that's 2/5000 that seemed worthwhile in my mind.
  7. My source told me this before the story was even made public. It's nothing trying to throw off any scent.
  8. FYI, I've heard from a source with an impeccable history that the collection came from Ohio. If these guys were from CT then it's probably not the right folks.
  9. His website is back up and active. Frequently updated.
  10. The older I get the longer it takes. I was able to find enough stimulation to get this one fully engorged.
  11. Great book! But even in 2013 this wasn't the highest graded copy. The 8.5 is in a first generation label.
  12. The entire Mile High II collection was a warehouse find. 1.5M pre-1979 comics plus 200K Warren mags. Lots & lots of Marvels.
  13. If someone wants to buy my VF copy of Spicy Mystery 4/36 at these multiples just let me know. Yeesh.
  14. Ah, sorry. I assumed that. From what you're describing, sounds like whoever did the C/P might have damaged them and/or not done a very good job?
  15. I guess CCS only guarantees that they will press the book, not that it'll do any good. My experience was that on 5% they popped the staple. And it wasn't the case that these were staples in jeopardy of being popped.
