  1. Well, I would be the new owner on that one. Payday can't come soon enough... Had to grab it; have 5 at CGC but none of them are sure thing 9.8s. Now I have one 9.8 and I'm happy (so total is 6 NYCCs in my collection). Was torn between this and giving Court some $$$ for some slabs. Sorry Court... I paid $568.70.
  2. 1A for sale Disregard...not a NYCC (flew right by me...will be interesting what price it goes for)
  3. This one will be fun to watch; next week this time will be interesting. Enormous Full Run Every Issue
  4. I would tend to agree with Tim and the 106 number; if there were more out there, we would have seen more action on the bay in the months before the media announcement was made. It was a $2.50 comic going for $50-$100 after the convention; if there was 250 to 500, logically more sales would have occurred.
  5. Shame on you - look at your icon! Look at it! No way am I showing any less love to Saga and don't think I'd ever part with my Saga RRP. I may be off the wall but really feel Enormous has the makings to become a several thousand dollar slab. Especially the NYCC. So many others that have gone into that realm with nothing in the works. Look at the Mouse Guard HTF books. Some of them fetch thousands raw with a similar print run and I don't know a single person that reads it. Perhaps some feel it has the making of the next TMNT? Not sure, but if this launches into a top notch television series that is continued it very well may blow the doors off TWD slab prices. Easy TWD crew, just a reference. Let's get readers on board first. It would have to defy the odds to actually make it to screen; how many optioned comics are out there? (see thread started by Authority I believe). I would love the series keeping on increasing readers and ensure a 50+ issue adventure for 215ink. Everything else is gravy.
  6. 1A is definitely my favorite cover of all the #1s. I don't like the Phantom or the NYCC but I know I'm in the minority there - people seem to really love the NYCC especially. The Phantom is probably my least favorite - I don't know, the creature just looks sort of mundane to me, I'm not sure what it is. The treasury's cover is pretty awesome too - if that were in the running I'd probably put it as my #2. This series gives us a lot of options for favorite covers...I like the simplicity of the Hastings; plus, its a bugger to get in high grade due to the white cover and Hasting's shipping methods (probably made 1/4 of the copies VF). The best reason... its a Mehdi cover. Hastings has the least amount of 9.8s in the census compared to the big four (NYCC, 1A, 1B, Phantom). It will probably be the 2nd least overall, only behind the NYCC (when more copies start getting submitted). I've had about 30 copies of the Hastings and probably only 15 had a shot at 9.6/9.8; most required a cleaning. It would be a dark horse though since typically Hastings variants aren't that collectable in the aftermarket; maybe Enormous will be the outlier.
  7. Looky what just came in the mail for me...I'm stoked!!! 1st piece of original art!!! ]Enormous 7 Cover Art[/url]
  8. Very simple, not every Phantom retailer got the amount they initially requested, in fact the LCS I get mine from didn't get any Enormous Phantoms on the day of release, they were sent a few copies later on. Same thing with the Spread #1 Phantom variant, and I have a bad feeling they'll be shorted on the Spider-Gwen since the head honchos seem to pre-selling the bulk of the print run at scalper's prices Bored during my last 15 minutes at work... Since Nov 29th, 106 B&W Phantoms were sold Currently # for sale on Ebay: 63 Total: 169 Plus, I have some...how many do ya'll have??? I guess this print run is up near 300-400. Still tiny, tiny though.
  9. Luckily, got them all relatively cheap. 2 via the con ($5), 2 via BIN now ebay ($100 total) and 1 with a package deal that had every book produced, including variants, 1-4 for ($175). So, $280 for my 5 copies (plus a nice set of every other book). Hope your right about the 9.8s; any slight bend with this cover stock is a nightmare, if not impossible, to fix due to the cardboard cover stock (per my presser)
  10. 15 currently on the census with 9.8s. (No other grade is listed) Of the 5 I sent to Florida, none of them are sure fire 9.8s. I could have Five 9.6s to be honest.
  11. Legacy 100% Changing to new format makes it sound like a mini-series.
  12. That is Larry; he's had that listing up for a bit. I'm sure he'll get some bites soon.
  13. At least we know what the max is of these guys out there...so ballpark figure is between 140 and 420. I'm sure we can weed that down to more exact numbers, though.
  14. THere is still a listing with 5X of the B&W (9 lots of them); 45 books in that auction alone.
  15. The sketch op cost more than that; nothing wrong with spending hard earned cash on something you'll enjoy.
  16. This may have something to do with the Creature Feature being a second print and the CHU variants are not classified as such. The B/W cover on the CHU is also incredible. Not to take away from the CF because it is also awesome and a really low print run. I'm also surprised it's going for as little as it is. My sense is that people are focusing most of their resources on the "Big 4" (1a, Phantom, Hastings, NYCC) while there is still something of a "cheap" supply of those before expanding out to the others, even though as pointed out print runs are similar on several to the NYCC. Confusion as to the exact print run of the Phantom Creature Feature ain't helping that book. Also, the Phantom Kaiju & Creature Feature books were specifically marketed as second printings, so they came out of the gate having to overcome that psychological hurdle whereas the NYCC was already at the finish line as the winner before it was pointed out as a second printing. It's already a winner in people's minds. The others I think will start picking up in popularity as the Big 4 start getting out of reach to many. The "official" 2nd print is still cheap. #2 is starting to become scarce on the bay; #3 is not far behind it. Non-Variants for #4, #5, and #6 still dead cheap too. Of course, it will be interesting when early bird's CGC copies come back from Florida and what type of action will be on the bay. Boy I can't wait until the trade comes out...really want this guy to hit 7K PLUS with issue #7.
  17. That raw NYCC went for a healthy $210; not bad. Currently, none others on the bay. Also, let the countdown continue; of my 5 currently in Florida, 2 will stay in my possession for some time. We are at 96. 101 I am keeping my 2 as well - for now. 99 .... Sold one and keeping the other two...also, for now ...98. I finally confirmed my previously ordered copy was en-route and had been graded 9.8.
  18. I bet its from this batch...posted on Enormous Facebook in January...timing seems right. I don't see any 1A, but I bet its there somewhere....
  19. That would be crazy cool...I imagine Cheggour is a very hard siggy to get due to his location (hence jumping on your sketch op is a no brainer!!)
  20. Glad I snagged this in January for $65...cover a tad scratchy though. I think its my favorite cover; reminds of an Indian Arrowhead every time I see it.
  21. I'm putting everything back on the shelf; ebay sales are slowing down a tad. Now to wait for the new readers inspired by trade or media news with a show runner picked out. If trade is success, lots of people new to Enormous will want those early books. If not, I just added to my ever growing pile that my son will donate to Goodwill when I'm dead.
  22. Just sold a 1A book on the bay for $45; it had a slight blunt on the back bottom right corner. NM with 9.6-9.8 potential, but it had a flaw that would need to be addressed. I just stated the flaw in my description; didn't say anything about my thoughts on 9.6-9.8 potential. I thought my $45 was fair (especially when I bought below cover). It sold in <2 hours. I get a flame mail from "baconcakebooks" stating I just killed the market with my presumably low ball sale. 1st time I've ever received a flame email for pricing too low. Anyone ever get a message like that? Have I just killed the ENORMOUS 1A market? Funny stuff.
  23. Anyone else seeing ink stain issues with their copies (especially Hastings or 1A)? Seems 1/2 of my copies require a cleaning.
