  1. From the CGC census, it looks like there are a total of 5 Universal copies graded so far, with the highest graded being 2 copies at 2.0 Good condition. funny. I own both 2.0s too
  2. Why is that copy only a 1.8? I know, right? May all our 1.8's look so good. presents like a 7.0+. Has spine split Definitely love these supposedly "low grade" copies that presents like a much higher grade copy. How severe is the spine split or is it to the point that the cover is almost detached? i have tried to discern through slab but cant clearly see

  4. Amazing man 25 This is a notoriously difficult book to obtain. The first time I collected I was unable to obtain one. Metropolis Auctioned the mile high copy about 6 years ago, but I lost out. So i obsessed over locating Since then I've tried to acquire every copy I've seen over the past years
  5. yes , diamond has minimums (retail $ amount that must be ordered)
  6. That's one of the items I was on the fence about...something I need to do more research on...if any shop owners have experience with a POS system, please let me know how it's working out and if it was worth the investment! I think in today's market a POS system is much needed. If nothing else it greatly reduces the amount of time you'll spend doing your books. Shopkeep is popular. No idea if it is the best choice. http://www.shopkeep.com/pricing comicsuite is diamonds system. I'd recommend that just for seemless integration.
  7. Dave, Did Torpedo go out of business? I have not purchased from them in about 6 months. What I found strange was the two books I purchased from them (as a gift for someone) about 6 months ago are still listed for sale (by them) on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WEIRD-WESTERN-TALES-23-CGC-9-8-HIGHEST-GRADED-/122150902639?hash=item1c70c2db6f:g:5r8AAOSwI-BWOpRJ http://www.ebay.com/itm/WEIRD-WESTERN-TALES-25-CGC-9-8-ONLY-2-GRADED-AT-9-8-/122150902606?hash=item1c70c2db4e:g:WegAAOSwwbdWOpRQ I knew John was going through some reorganization of his shop. That was the only big store in Vegas I could think of. I'm in Vegas and I can tell you I went to Torpedo Comics within the last few weeks for the first time and they do not appear to be going out of business. It was a cool experience going there. I met Jim Lee in person and had him sign a few comics and talked to him for a bit. I heard the owner mention they would never sell any of that magic card game . I thought that was cool. A strictly comic book store. I also liked the way they had all their older and more valuable comics sectioned off from the main floor in a smaller room with see through glass walls. I had never been to Torpedo Comics before but to me this seemed like it was a new location for them. It was kind of a weird location to be honest. It was off in this complex with a bunch of small subdivided warehouses. Not like in a typical retail center where most comic shops are. However, I understand the small warehouse thing they had going on which seemed cool as it was certainly bigger than your average sized comic shop and would be good if you are trying to run a larger sized internet mail order operation. Torpedo is owned by John Dolmayan the drummer of System of a Down. In the back of the store, in the warehouse part he had a drum set with custom artwork all over it. Super cool. Will have to check if I have a picture of it on my phone. John and crew just opened that LV retail location a few months ago, if memory serves me...
  8. Amazing man 24 Nearing the end of the run. This is another relatively recent auction win/upgrade
  9. Amazing man 23 Actually one of my favorite issues/cover You should take notice of Tommy , the amazing boy , who's introduced in this issue (sidekick) Interestingly enough this cover was used for the promotional amazing mystery funnies that I will post at the end of that run
  10. Amazing man 22. I owned this copy back in 2008-2010. Dino talked me into selling it to him when I broke my run. A few years later he was selling his books and this was one of two books I sold him, that I wanted back. I Was fortunate enough to get a nice low grade copy from ciorac , but Having secured this copy back I was able to use that to trade for a couple of tough centaurs I needed. Well, this is one book I might never sell again!
  11. i think I sold Craig a few of those any blue or all PLOD? Pretty set. from the video I think all plod. I know the whiz 2 craig bought this summer from me is restored
  12. AWESOME!!!! not one of my favorites
  13. I never knew g.a.tor's portrait was on a comic back cover!
  14. Amazing man 20 Larson Probably my nicest copy, condition wise. Strangely this issue seems to be more readily available than surrounding, but tough none the less I believe a boardie owned it and even offered it to me but at the time I had a nice copy and couldn't justify the cost. Believe it was later auctioned and I put a "its going to cheap" bid on it and won!
  15. 18 I never associated...which supes issue rings a bell for you?
  16. i believe D.C. Filed against fox in 39 and fawcett in 40
  17. Amazing Man 19 The Glanzman brothers (Lew and Sam) continue as the featured aman story...Thomas, Lubbers, Filchock all contribute to the issue...another surprisingly tough issue to locate Issue was published in Jan of 41, and you can note from the cover, maybe trying to capture some of the popularity of another "super" man hehe
  18. Amazing man 18.... you will note the new cover format for this issue (and the following 2)
