  1. Can you spot me the $75K? hello all... that's it?...Peter and I were thinking $90K+...let me find my checkbook.... rick
  2. hello all... the MH Amazing-Man 5 is in the Jan Heritage auction... rick
  3. hello all... I bought a vg/fn 5.0 for $13,500, so about double guide is right...I know of a vg- that sold for $10K (again, about double guide)...and metro had a vg earlier this year that sold for around $10K too...I would think a 3.0 would easily sell for $7K or more, and a 6.0 in the $17-20K range (the crippin 5.5 went for almost $18k)... rick
  4. hello all... what I find to be the best part of this post is the "I read the first story, and I'm going to read...."....brings collecting back home, to me! rick
  5. hello all... this is a tough book, as most know....too bad I just bought another copy, or I would be jonesing for this one.... keep us posted on the sale rick
  6. hello all... wow win, great stuff!...keep them coming rick
  7. An easy (and free) alternative to photoshop is online photo storage website flickr.com which among other cool features (slideshows, set organization, etc) can do wall-size "posters" of up to 100 comic images. You can use the free poster preview function to quickly create collages in jpeg format like this: GE hello all.. thanks to both of the above for info...I will try them! rick
  8. hello all... now that is what I call a Xmas gift! congrats rick
  9. hello all... on the heritage auction, I believe I stopped bidding at $12K on the 31, but was the underbidder (or second underbidder) on the 35 copy...again, for me, it was because I had seen a half dozen unrestored 31's for sale at that time, and that was only the 2nd unrestored 35 (and highest graded I had seen, with a 2.5 that I passed on, because I was winning the 35 at the time) ....which cover is more "classic"...the 31, of course, has long been considered one of the ultimate GA covers....which book is higher quality, likely the 35 with superior page quality.... which would I choose...I think it would be easier to find a 31 than a 35 in that grade, so based strictly on "rareness" I would choose the 35... rick
  10. Yes it is, Ryan - adamstrange has one of the best set of Eyes in the hobby and he Sees the best qualities in the best books. I've been off celebrating my 20th Wedding Anniversary (hubba, hubba) and getting ready for Xmas, but here's a group shot (sorry for the flash burn) I wanted to share again (ported over the Martin Nodell RIP thread). Happy Holidays to one and all! STEVE hello all... OMG.... ... steve, I need to know when you can hook me up with a private tour of your seemingly endless collection of AWESOME books... rick
  11. hello all... GREAT shot...how do you do that (make them line up that way, I would love to do that for my tec's, but I am clueless) thanks rick
  12. Hey Bill, You can send the Detective to the same address as you are using for the Heroic Comics. Again, no thanks needed, just trying to help ya out. P.S. YOU BETTER LET ME KNOW 1ST IF YOU DECIDE TO SELL IT !!! hello all... G, you know I would have traded it to you for your Whiz 25??? but bill offered to let me drive his Cayman rick

  15. hello all... excellent....and I assume you are keeping the 28 (tough book , I would keep if the price is right) rick
  16. That cover has that very classic old comic book look to it for some reason. Maybe because the art wasn't as refined as some of the preceeding issues. Love those early issues. hello all... SS...super tough book in grade, congrats! rick
  17. hello all... one of my favorite Supes covers (maybe top 3) rick
  18. hello all.. whew...an "easy" one ....MF 54 for me, but only by a hair rick
  19. hello all... I have found that there are a ton of great contributors to these boards...all of the above references and many more (not necessary to name names, as we know who they are ).... I find great interaction, and have found I have made many new friends I would otherwise not have, via this board...so, I will happily take the good, the bad, the fun, the rude, the senseless, the tacky and the outrageous, but at least we have that option.. rick
  20. hello all.. holy cow, batman...3 "non" DC choices for me in one 24 hour period (must be the moon, or something)....I guess for me, while having a 9.4 GA DC is rare and would be a treat, I can't dismiss the historical value that Archie #1 has, versus an albeit uncommon GL issue...so, MLJ for me rick
  21. hello all.. ok, this is the 3rd place I have posted this pic...I apologize to my fellow board members for the overkill, but this is as sweet to me, as getting the tec 1 or 27, so I am a little "enthusiastic" over it thanks rick
  22. hello all... newest addition to the "family".... rick
  23. hello all.. wow, 2 non DC choices in one day for me (first Fant 3)...now CA 3....maybe it is an issue 3 kind of day rick
