Got this during the last Clink auction.  TPB of ARAH 3, 6, and 7.  Census: 1 graded copy, this one.  Just stumbled on it.  Anyone know the backstory?  Its Marvel, but I have never seen it before.

SWEET!  I have a raw copy somewhere but it is not in the best of shape.  If you ever want to part with this you let me know :) .

  2. That looks to be in great shape for a foreign book!  :golfclap:

I worked HARD of picking up foreign Joe books, they are tough to find in good shape.  I was shocked to discover how many countries Joe was printed in: I have books from: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chili, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, & the U.K. Other than the U.K. Action Force stuff it is all just reprinted books in a different language, on occasion with all new original cover art.

Foreign books are a cool way to keep collection the old Marvel run once you get all of them printed in the US.

    Great find!

  3. Just went to watch it a second time; the theater was nearly full on a Christmas morning showing! It was even better the 2nd time. Such a great story!

You know what truly ties this movie together with A New Hope? The music of John Williams! I do not think that man gets enough credit for the success of the Star Wars universe.

  4. Best SW movie ever. Even better than Empire!!!!

    Score: 7/10

I thought the same thing (maybe 2nd to Episode VI) but I'd give it a solid 8.5/10 or better. Loved it and plan on seeing it again next weekend!

The cameo's were great but the real surprise was the CGI cameo at the very end, a very cool final few seconds. Made me want to come right home and watch Episode IV!

After seeing this I want a side-bar/connected movie for Episodes V & VI as well.

  5. (thumbs u Thanks fellas! Here are the other two I had Mark Bright create. I remember how thrilling it was to see the iconic cover to issue #93. I was going to finally see what Snake Eyes looked like! So, I asked Mr. Bright for a sketch recreation and here you go. :acclaim:(worship)

:o I asked Mr. Bright for a recreation for that iconic (to me) panel, and here it is! :o:applause:

    :headbang:

  6. These are some serious grail sketches for me. :cloud9: I recall reading G.I. Joe's "Snake Eyes Trilogy" time and time again when those three issues came out. Remember how Snake Eyes ended up with a new uniform during that storyline? hm I also really remember the art by M.D. Bright in those and other seminal issues in the original Marvel series. To me, Mark Bright was always kind of a mystery in G.I. Joe land. In all my years of collecting I never saw Mr. Bright appear at ANY comic con. Until earlier this year... :o Could it happen? Could I actually get some sketches by one of my favorite Joe artists ever?

Yes! :acclaim: Here's Snake Eyes in his "Trilogy" uniform as drawn by the awesome Mark Bright!

    :fear:

Sweet! I kept looking for Bright for a few years hoping he would attend a convention so I could get a SS book from him but never saw him anywhere. Great job and awesome sketches!

  7. :applause: You always get some awesome sketch covers!

Thanks! (thumbs u I'm just focused on getting G.I. Joe sketches by Joe artists now. I'm aiming for the original Marvel series artists and inkers. Wait until you see the next four sketches I got! I never thought I would get sketches by this G.I. Joe artist, as I've never seen him attend a comic con in all the years I've been looking for him. I'll post them as soon as they arrive to me. (thumbs u

I'm excited to see them! (worship)

  8. Apparently the IDW Hardcover "Complete GI Joe" Series has ended due to lack of support. What a shame.

It was spoken about on Hisstank.com

Not surprised especially when it comes to the modern ones. Lot of those books are $2-$4 in the longboxes so why pay $50 when you can get them cheaper. I see the hardcovers already be discounted as well usually around half price.

Then you look at the arah reprints and while maybe the first and second volume is ok you can get the softcover for like $15 a volume and in certain numbers of the 155 you can find those original books at $2 a piece for decent quality originals and get it cheaper in the end.

    :)

Bad news indeed, I was planning to get all of them. But as you say, I guess there isn't much point in them when most of the issues you can find in the dollar box.

Ugh! I hate when they do that! :censored:

  9. If anyone out there has original art pages or covers they may be able to contribute to this book (especially from issues #1 & 2), feel free to drop me a line. I can help make sure they get to Scott Dunbier for this project.

Should be a great book and the ultimate book for G.I. Joe art collectors!

All of my pages are probably too late or inconsequential to the project managers. Only page I have that may be of interest to them is this one from the last issue of the Marvel run:

Nice. I have managed to pick up a page here or there of inconsequential issues and a few from the original Special Missions run but nothing from issue 155!
