  1. My very first complaint of any comic buyer or seller on the ole' CGC Boards! :whee:

Watch out for B-Bay user name "c.w.i.e." This guy attempted to pull a bait and switch on me. I attempted to buy a comic off E-Bay from him and he talked me into buying it, as well as a full set he said he had. I reluctantly agreed since I really wanted the whole set.

After weeks of telling me he had them set aside and putting me off then he tells me the set will cost me twice as much as he originally told me... what an .

Oddly enough I would have originally paid the full amount he is asking now but I passed out of pure principal. I'll find them elsewhere one day.

  2. I am not sure how I feel about the whole death of Snake-Eyes story arc... but I doubt it will create a big collector market from the trilogy or actual death issue.

There appears to be a few retail exclusive covers that will be a pain to track down in high grade (maybe it will be easy than I hope :wishluck: ).

Hoping the story is worth his death!

  3. Thanks - I really like hunting these down. I have managed to pick up 'Joe comics from 19 different countries (about to be 20, I'm working with a guy now that is collecting up the entire 15 issue run from China).

Once I got all the America printed books it seem like a good thing to keep me occupied. It's doubtful I'll ever find all the foreign issues.

  4.

Still however I am in the phase of "if it says G.I. Joe on the cover , I want it". Hoping to break out soon. lol

Yeah it doesn't get any better... after alternate covers and reprints then you just start searching for things like this:

  5. Thanks to Silent Master got some 2nd prints and a first print #2. :) Got these a few days ago but just been busy. Thanks bud with helping me fill some holes. After those books arrived went out to a couple shops to see if anything available and found a Blackthorne GI Joe 3D #1 in really nice shape. I would say a 9.2.

Anytime man! Glad I could help.

  6. 12 more books to go and I am going to reread 1-155 in order. Then back to collecting figures in which only 45 more to go and I have all from 1982-89. Who knows how long it will take though lol since been buying a lot of airsoft stuff.

  7.

Rings a bell. Double checking Wiki it says there were a couple of issues Hama did not write but exactly which is not stated. I was only able to find out that Herb Trimpe, Eric Fein and Steve Grant were writers also. Although I would be quite surprised to find Larry Hama did not ultimately approve of the issues scripts himself.

    He didn't write issues 9 and 10.

Idk if he had creative input into those. Be an interesting question for him. Especially since there is some Snake-Eyes origin stuff in those issues when he's hooked up to the brain wave scanner.

    Yeap -

    Steven Grant wrote 9, 10, & 20

    Herb Trimpe wrote 119

143 was scriped by more than one person??

    Peter Quinones wrote 154

and 21, 85, and Yearbook #2 wasn't "written" by anyone :insane:

I always wondered why Hama didn't do these? Not that he didn't deserve a vacation!!! Just curious.

  8. So I have a stupid question...where does the story line for that series of ARAH that you mentioned pick up Silent Master? Its just that I am trying to read as much continuous GI Joe as possible and I want to make sure I do not miss anything. :makepoint: I mean duh what series of back issues should I buy to get me there? (shrug) Thanks!

H0RR0RSH0W - I'd have to do some looking I am WAY behind in my reading. I am one of those guys that gets very frustrated reading 1 comic a month so I generally way for the trades then once I have 3 or 4 trades stacked up I have a day where I just read it all back to back! lol

  9. Well Joe fans looks like Hama might be pulling the trigger... This is the March solicit for ARAH:

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #212—The Death of Snake Eyes: Part 1

    Larry Hama (w) • S L Gallant (a & c)

G.I. JOE faces a force unlike anything they've ever encountered before... and the only way to control it is by reviving Serpentor, the Cobra Emperor himself! But bringing him backs sets into motion drastic events that lead to the death of the original Ninja Commando! The Death of Snake Eyes begins here in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #212!

Hama even hyped the story on his Facebook page which is something he never does; should be interesting.
