Ok, I was trying to explain the Legacy/Generations/whatever thing to a friend last night who used to be a big comic guy, but who hasn't been in touch with the medium for several years. I also haven't kept up with Marvel for years. My understanding is that this isn't really a reboot or re-do like Crisis/new 52, etc., but is more like a soft reboot where they're returning to legacy characters and numbering, bringing back the original characters or whatever. Am I wrong?

It's true. With the advent of the internet, eBay, etc, it's no longer a challenge to put together, say, a run of X-Men or Batman or whatever. If you're willing to spend the money, you can have the books delivered directly to your doorstep with zero difficulty. So these odd variants, errors, newsstands, etc give people something new to hunt.

Any updates? Tried using the online sub form for the first time today via Chrome, and it's not working for me. Will let me add a book, but when I try the "apply same tier" option, it doesn't work, and I can't add it manually either.

I could never spend that much money on a cover done by a porn tracer like Land, but to each their own!

Yeah, I think Stormwatch 37 is a sleeper, I pick them up on the cheap when I see them, which is rarely anymore.

Feels like I've been waiting most of my life to see a Dark Tower flick, and unfortunately my hopes aren't high for this one. Looks like another generic Hollywood summer CGI energy explosions in the sky type of flick. Will cross my fingers and hope for the best!

There's probably not much of a long term gain to be had with a book like this, so I'd say buy the one you like the best.

I didn't even consider that it would be anyone other than Superman until I came online and saw the debate. Still sticking with Supes. Hated Man of Steel and BvS, still don't like the overall aesthetic of what we've seen so far on this movie, but I'll still give it a chance. That Flash costume is ugly as hell, though.

Hela, Executioner, Fenris Wolf, Surtur...I am fully onboard with this flick. The first two Thor movies were such a snooze, this one actually looks FUN. I don't see the need to shoehorn the Hulk into the story (other than the obvious financial bump) but even with that, I think it's going to be a blast.

Awesome thread, bud, this was exactly what I was looking for. Looks like you had a great time and picked up lots of groovy stuff! I haven't been to SDCC since about 20 years ago, I don't know that I could handle the crowds nowadays. But this sort of stuff makes it very tempting!

I don't collect any Marvels, but I read a few in the Unlimited App. I'd check these out there, but have no reason to own physical copies. Meanwhile, my longtime Batman, Wonder Woman and Hellblazer collections insure that DC still gets a few bucks from me every month.

Some super sharp copies I picked at a $1 sale this weekend!

Another Saturday, another $1 sale! Per usual there's nothing earth shattering, but several solid $5-$10 books, and many that I am keeping for myself. What set these books apart was that they appeared to be a single collection, and they are in super nice shape. Pretty much everything I pulled looks 9.6 or better, with only a couple of exceptions. That was especially nice when it came to the DCU variants. So, a little bit of everything I like: some shiny 90's drek, some sharp copper Bats, some DCU variants, and lots of $1 spec books that I like to horde. The Venom stuff always sells for me, and those late Darkhawks are a major pain to find in grade. Also got some Bat and Wildcats newsstands for the personal collection, trying to piece together newsstand sets $1 at a time. Slow going, but fun!

Yeah, I ran across one of these at a show once and was tempted, but at the end of the day decided it didn't fit my collection. Interesting book for sure!

Yeah, the guy did the right thing, and though you don't do the right thing in order to be rewarded, CGC definitely needs to come correct and hook this guy up. Could have been a VERY messy situation for them.

Wow, very fortunate that these ended up in the hands of an honest person. I'm sure many folks would be tempted to take the books and run. The bigger story here is WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AT CGC??? This could have been a disastrous blunder.
