I usually don't have much luck in the HA Signature auctions, but I was able to score a few wins. Never a bad day when you can add a Church copy to your collection, much less two.

Should be OK. The CC Event Auction starts September 9th and will probably run until Thanksgiving. -
Don’t Use CCS! Beware!
walclark replied to BarristerBaker's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
I have a couple of books with “very minor color touch” and I would like to have restoration removal performed on them, but just not with a chainsaw and belt sander. -
CGC announces NEW Pedigree Labels and NEW Pedigrees

Well said. And if you consider this controversial, may I suggest you never venture over to Comics General? -
GA With Less Than Ten Copies in the CGC Census
walclark replied to circumstances's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
What a noob! The first thing I learned in Safecracking 101 was to turn off the blowtorch as soon as you got the door off. Otherwise, you're just going to set the money you're stealing on fire and contribute to global warming. -
Thanks for sharing. This is one thread that I look forward to reading every year!

CGC announces NEW Pedigree Labels and NEW Pedigrees
walclark replied to sagii's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Nobody likes Cookevilles more than me, but I won't be resubmitting my copies for the new label. Also, I don't pay a premium for them. With the wide variations in the markings (SN, NN, SMN, block letters or cursive, and pencil, pen, marker, maybe even crayon) and no master list available, it would seem to be very easy to fake a Cookeville. Also, @adamstrange is correct...the quality also varies. I have Cookevilles that range from 9.2 to 0.5. I think CGC's write-up about the collection is also incorrect. My understanding is that two sisters (and probably other relatives) worked at the store where the comics were purchased, but they were not Leroy or Jimmie's sisters. Is some of this a reaction to the other guys recognizing some of these as pedigrees? -

"Great, the cops are here. We've got a nasty hostage situation, so let's send the kid in first. Hey, Fred, give him your gun." Same reason I bought this one. Dan Tayler is riding his bike with no hands, facing a machine gun, blazing away with two guns, and is still outpacing the cops on motorcycles! Awesome!

I’ll echo that sentiment. @ciorac Good to see you posting in the GA forum again!

Did this inspire the Florida police in the case involving Robert Kraft? Oh, wait, that was a Chinese massage parlor. Never mind.
