  1. Definitely a Cookeville copy. That SN is the most common with the big block letters in pencil. I would have to go back and check, but I think Rick and Harry bought the collection in the late 80’s.
  2. SN and NN were the initials of the two sisters who worked at the store where Leroy Mackie and his brother Jimmie bought their comics. There were probably other family members that worked there as well. I’ve wondered if that might account for the variations in the initials. When the collection was brought to market, the two sisters were still alive, but asked that their names not be revealed (I have no idea why they wanted to remain anonymous, but whatever).
  3. Sold to me as the Cape Cod copy by Heritage.
  4. Submitted this one raw and was pleasantly surprised when it came back as a Crippen.
  5. Here's an interesting twist to the Cookeville collection. The older brother, Leroy, bought most of the comics. His younger brother, Jimmie, bought some of the books. Both stopped collecting once they entered the Army. Here's a subscription copy that was mailed to the younger brother, Jimmie.
  6. Man,that's gotta be kind of rough. I would be the same way if I were to bring my Hitler cover collection to auction. Hopefully, the results will be impressive. Wishing you the best, Rick.
