  1. The back cover of #6 introduces the Man O'Metal and details his origin:
  2. Seems like people enjoy looking at some of the runs that I've been fortunate to complete. The Golden Age Hitler cover run generated a lot of interest and some folks liked the Captain Aero run that I posted. With GAtor finishing up his superb Zip mini-run, I thought I'd share my mini-run of Heroic Comics featuring Hydroman covers. Hydroman was a creation of the legendary Bill Everett. Between Hydroman, the Fin. and some other water based hero, Sub-mari-something or other, Everett seemed to have an affinity for aquatic heroes. Hydroman could transform any part of his body into water and control its form and motion. First, a group shot of the 12 Hydroman covers which shows that my iPad takes lousy pictures.
  3. So, I was going to match $90 for the two books I've sold so far, but rounded up to $100...so you hit your $1K mark. Thanks for doing this! Walter
  4. This is a lot of two and consider them to be low grade readers. But the donation goes to a worthy cause and you might enjoy these. Shocking Mystery Cases #59 and Murder Incorporated #5 (#1) 2nd series *SOLD to MusterMark* Asking for a $25 donation for both. I'll cover shipping to the US. Elsewhere, you pay the shipping charges. The Shocking Mystery sports an L. B. Cole cover (obviously) and is brittle in the upper right corner and edges. The book can be opened and read because the spine is not brittle. Still, consider it just a low grade reader copy. Murder Incorporated (second series) #5 (which is actually #1 in the second series). Obvious water damage and some small holes in a few of the pages. Staining through the book, but the pages are supple and the book can be easily read and enjoyed.
  5. OK, two more and then off to see the nephew's baseball game. Dan'l Boone #4 This is the Sussex Publishing series. A nice looking copy, flat, tight, nice gloss. Find out what happened to the "i" and "e" in his name! Price is $25 and I'll cover the shipping in the USA. Elsewhere, you cover the shipping.
  6. OK, a quick break for breakfast and I'll see if I can find another book or two to post.
  7. Variety Comics #nn (Fox Giant) *SOLD to whomerjay* Here's one of those Fox Giants that contains remaindered comics. There are a couple Jungle Jo stories, a Black Tarantula (check out the splash below), some My Story, and a couple of Crimes by Women stories. Literally something for almost every taste. This is a deslabbed CGC 4.0 blue label. Label will be included in the mylar. Don't worry about the light tan designation on the page quality. That's just at the very edges of the pages and the pages are very supple. You can read this book without worries. Fox is kind of hot right now, right? Price: $100 and I'll add another $50 as a donation, so this nice thick book will generate $150 towards the relief efforts. Shipping in US is on me. If you live somewhere else, you'll have to pay the shipping costs.
  8. Hitler bets the Eiffel Tower on the first roll and it escalates from there. Fun story and the man is a
  9. Flying Stories #1 This is embarrassing, but I really don't know anything about the pulp market, so I have no clue how to price this. Took a look at eBay, but we all know what that is like. It is a first issue and I guess that makes it worth something. You can judge the condition from the scan. I'm not sure if the cover has been reattached with white glue or if that's the original glue, but check out the picture (I think you can see what I'm talking about). Price: $40 and I'll cover US shipping. If you are outside the US, you'll have to pay for shipping. If my price is , shoot be a counter offer. And, if my price is too low, remember this is for a good cause and donate more!
  10. Army and Navy Comics #1 *SOLD to GACollectibles* Donate $60 to the relief effort and I'll add $40 so that this book will generate an even $100. U.S. shipping is on me. If you are somewhere else, you'll have to pay the shipping charges. This is a deslabbed CGC 3.5 (SA) and label will be included in the mylar. Looks like the bottom staple was removed and replaced with some glue. A very readable book. And you need to read it to find out how Private Rook ended up shooting craps with Hitler.
  11. Putting in about 65 hours at work this week, so haven't had time to dig something up. Let me see what I can do this weekend.
  12. I know what you mean. If you're going to start showing a run, you could do worse than leading with a 9.6 Church #1. I think the first comic in the run that I acquired was #6. Woman walked into the LCS 30 years ago with a small stack of GA comics that she found in her closet when she was cleaning. Maybe a dozen books, not a monumental find, but I snagged the Captain Aero and a Catman #10. Don't think there was much else that caught my eye. Later, I added the Church #1 and was off to the races.
