  1. Good morning! Just wanted to remind you that my eBay auctions end tonight: https://www.ebay.com/sch/leebenaka/m.html?item=113369586526&hash=item1a655a9b5e%3Ag%3AzMUAAOSwUBtb6jIK%3Ark%3A1%3Apf%3A0&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 If you struck out at Heritage over the weekend, there may be some affordable deals from me tonight. Thanks, Lee
  2. Good evening! I managed to put together another auction price prediction column, for the second week in a row. As always, you can read it on my ComicArtAds website: http://www.comicartads.com/content/heritage-weekly-111818 This time around I focused on some rather goofy pages in this week's Heritage auction ending on Sunday. Thanks for reading! Best, Lee ps. I have been posting some vintage John Byrne art ads on the site as well lately, so please check them out, if that's your cup of tea: http://www.comicartads.com/
  3. Good evening! I listed some auctions on eBay last night, including 2 pages from Superboy #6, with pencils by Schaffenberger. I also listed a pair of Secret Origins pages featuring the origin of the Suicide Squad and pencils by Luke McConnell. Finally, I listed a page from Justice League of America Annual #2, with pencils by Chuck Patton. You can see the auctions here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/leebenaka/m.html?item=113369586526&hash=item1a655a9b5e%3Ag%3AzMUAAOSwUBtb6jIK%3Ark%3A1%3Apf%3A0&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Thanks for looking! Best, Lee
  4. Good morning all! I have just posted another auction price prediction column on my ComicArtAds website: http://www.comicartads.com/content/heritage-weekly-auction-ending-111118 Thanks for reading! Cheers, Lee
  5. To circle back to Starman prices in the 1990s, Scott Eder was actively selling these pages in late 1995 and early 1996. The prices were below $200, though: http://www.comicartads.com/search-page?keys=&field_comic_title_tid=&field_artist_tid=737&=Apply Best, Lee
  6. Maybe these events could be marketed more as performance art, as opposed to places where you would actually buy art. Attendees could pay to watch Bechara haggle with Albert for 20 minutes over a six-figure cover or splash. That could be worth the price of admission for me. Best, Lee
  7. Correction, looks like the page is from Spider-Man Magazine #6, based on information on this website: http://www.spiderfan.org/title/comics/spiderman_magazine.html Cheers, Lee
  8. According to the index in the acclaimed biography "Dave Hunt: An Artist's Life", by Dave Hunt and yours truly, this page likely is from Spider-Man Magazine #7 or #8. Both were published in 1994. Dave inked Don Heck on an X-Men story in issue #7, and Dave inked Artie Ruiz on an X-Men story in issue #8. Your art looks more like not-Don-Heck than Don Heck, so I would guess it's a Ruiz/Hunt page from Spider-Man Magazine #8. If any of you haven't gotten your signed copy of "Dave Hunt: An Artist's Life", complete with a foreword by Dave's collaborator and mentor Joe Sinnott, I would be happy to send you a copy for $20. Just message me on this board. Or you can buy an unsigned copy from this website: https://store.bookbaby.com/book/Dave-Hunt-An-Artists-Life1 Cheers, Lee
  9. Thanks for the kind words about the artwork. I agree wholeheartedly. Good catch about the "more than 15 years ago" line. That makes very little sense. Anyone who can explain that comment certainly would deserve a No-Prize.
  10. Professor Silas X. Cragg (RIP) and the Man-Brute, from Captain America #121:
  11. Good evening! I have just posted a new column where I predict the final prices of some art up for grabs in this week's Heritage auction, and review my predictions from three weeks ago. You can check it out here: http://www.comicartads.com/content/heritage-weekly-auction-ending-101418 Thanks for reading, and thanks for any comments you might have (including a belated thanks to Rick2you2 for his post a few weeks back). Cheers, Lee
  12. Like this? (Courtesy of a 1996 Graphic Collectibles catalog) Good luck with your quest! Best, Lee
  13. Good morning! I just wanted to remind you all that my eBay auctions are ending tonight beginning at about 9pm Eastern Time. Bids are quite reasonable still, so you could pick up a bargain. Thanks for looking! Best, Lee
  14. Good evening! I was inspired by the return of O. recently to finally write up another Heritage weekly auction preview with predictions. You can read it all here: http://www.comicartads.com/content/heritage-weekly-auction-ending-92318 I also have been posting some old Jack Kirby art ads to the ComicArtAds website recently, if you are into that sort of thing. Thanks! Best regards, Lee
  15. Hello! I listed some eBay original art auctions last night, including two Luke McDonnell pages from an 1980s issue of Secret Origins featuring the origin of the Suicide Squad. Best regards, Lee

  21. TriState ran this ad in the Comic Buyer's Guide on May 12, 1998:
  22. It is great to see these ads. Thanks for sharing! I have scanned pretty much all of these images and put them in the searchable database at www.comicartads.com Albert Moy also ran ads in Comic Book Artist, another TwoMorrows publication from around the same time, and I have scanned those ads as well and posted them to www.comicartads.com Cheers, Lee
  23. Good morning! My eBay auctions are ending in less than 12 hours. There could be some great bargains to be had on art by Infantino, Oksner, and McDonnell: https://www.ebay.com/sch/leebenaka/m.html?item=113022325069&hash=item1a50a7d14d%3Ag%3AVG8AAOSwdm1bC2Ol&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Thanks, Lee
  24. Hi all! I listed a few auctions on eBay last night, including a pair of pages by Carmine Infantino, a Bob Oksner page from Supergirl, and a Luke McDonnell Secret Origins page from an issue focusing on the Suicide Squad. You can see the auctions here: https://www.ebay.com/sch/leebenaka/m.html?item=113022325069&hash=item1a50a7d14d%3Ag%3AVG8AAOSwdm1bC2Ol&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Thanks, Lee
  25. I wonder whether that story might be in a drawer somewhere at Stan Lee's house. He has written about it very fondly in the past. It is a great comic.
