it has been a fabulous collecting jag to round up a batch of Atlas digests in the last few months.  the thick cover stock and colorful images are very PB-like, with Cardwell Higgins and Peter Driben both contributing wonderful work. these are all from 1942-1945.

Great books there, Pat. I've never even seen most of those before.

I post a "Vintage Comic Show and Tell"  as well as unboxing videos with my oldest daughter Rachael each week. The channel is about five months old.

Good luck with the channel. I've seen 4 or 5 of the interviews so far and really liked them all.

If you're taking requests, I'd like to see a weekly segment with Andy and Kiss's Calling Doctor Love as his intro music.

    This was an interesting selection.

Spoiler:  No Heath.  No Severin.  No Toth.  No Frazetta.

Thanks for the head's up AS and as PopKulture mentioned above, I appreciate the effort that went into these. And what kind of top 100 list would it be if you couldn't blurt out "ugh" or "what the hell?" more than a few times? I liked seeing so many cool books on the big screen and I'm looking forward to seeing the 1-100 War books by the same person.

The End of the Night is one of the MacDonald's I haven't read yet, I'll need to track it down.  All three books are gorgeous.

Thanks and for some reason I thought you read all of his books. I think I've read 13 of his so far and will try to stick to only reading 3 or 4 a year since I know It'll be depressing when I've finished them all. Though I'll be kicking myself if I don't live another 15 years.

He signed this drawing the same way (signature is deleted from the scan)..  Met him in NYC at an Apple con I think.

Ayers was wearing a big straw panama hat and taking art requests.

Love it and it would have been great to have met him and get a Ghost Rider sketch or some commissioned art. In 1991 though, I probably would have just asked him if he could make me a Wolverine sketch and moved on to the next artist.

Just throwing it out there that Illustration #77 with the Raymond Johnson article is finally back from the printer and Dan has it posted for purchase on the website now

I hope dropping a link doesn't get me in jail. This message board is mentioned in the article :)

I'd like to post a reminder tomorrow about the Livestream I'm doing with Ruben DaCollector tomorrow evening. I'd love to see any boardies drop by. Ruben is quite entertaining and there will be TONS of paperback art shown!

Congratulations on the article SA. I just finished reading it yesterday and really enjoyed it. With so many great covers, his work really deserves that spotlight.

Looking forward to seeing the replay of the livestream on Youtube.

  7. I pick up a new guide every 2 or 3 years. Obviously not as relevant as it was but I still get decent use out of it for the books I collect and getting one gives me a little reminder of how excited I used to get when the new one came out. #11 (L.B. Cole) was my first.

What really bugs me every year is that Star Ranger #1 is listed as the "first western comic" (along with Western Picture Stories #1) but is still not listed in the Western Top 10. I'm sure adamstrange gets really irritated that his best comic doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
