This cover always makes me think of "The Fly"
It was pretty bizarre and incredible for its time.
Definitely. That scene from the original with the little guy in the web yelling "Help me!" while the spider came after him really gave me the creeps as a kid.

Do yourself a favor and grab Aces High as well. Classic WWI air tales and still VERY cheap. Stories are on par with Piracy and better than Valor in my opinion.
Thanks. I'm on the lookout but haven't come across the right copies yet. I MUCH prefer reading the EC originals over the reprints, so I'll wait until I can add them to the collection. Looking forward to reading them though.

Thanks SA and, as always, more great information (and cool books).
Hopefully you won't hear "you can call me Ray or you can call me Jay" every time you look at your new painting .

Thanks! It is crazy cool! Hope you are well and still hoarding hi grade classics!
All good, thanks.
I don't know about classics, but I've still been picking up books here and there. Nothing good enough to change my avatar though.

So I'll probably never be able to top this post, because I acquired a unique super grail. You folks know I've been researching the mysterious artist Raymond Johnson to do an article on his life and checklist his paperback paintings. So when the opportunity arose to acquire his signed original painting for "I Killed Stalin" (Eton Books #119), I had to have it. It's incredibly powerful in person, partly because it's such an iconic image that every paperback collector knows, and it is LARGE, and executed on canvas, when most of these paperback illustrations were done on illustration board. I could go on and on about it but I'm sharing here with you gents first because y'all deserve to be in the know
Awesome painting SA! Congratulations.

Always loved this Frazetta Ghost Rider cover (still need a #2 before the group shot).
The CGC label says " Ayers 8/3/96" written on 1st page in marker. I was happy to see that it wasn't just written by some kid.
Ayers splash page for the cover story.
