Nice one. I wonder if a psychiatrist ran off with Nixon's wife or something.

Another great bunch of books. The Battlefront #26 is on my short list of favorite war covers and your copy is by far the best I've ever seen.

Classic issue. The original is so much better than Marie’s re-color for the hardback reprint.
I agree. I also didn't know that she's the one that did the colors on the reprint (assuming you mean the one with a white ceiling and light blue or grey walls).

The two copies with the pink writing were my old copies. It’s a ‘Ch’ short for Cherrainne which was my grandma’s first name.
That's great to know, thanks.
And thanks again for the book. I just checked my old pm's and see I bought the 5.0 from you a year and a half ago on the boards.

Fantastic, Chris! Orbits are really really really hard to find in grade, especially the line drawn. 42 with that black cover, and 43 has no census. Pound for pound, maybe the best romance publisher. Atlas vs St. John, I stack Colletta up against Baker, not on covers, on interiors and story telling capability. But Orbits had a nice bullpen, at least four expressive artists, each of whom had their own unique style, each of whom could make a relatively actionless drama come to life - Leav, Lawrence, Buscema, and Anderson.
Big John started on western and crime for Marvel in '48, and after a few years made his way over to Orbit. His produced a fairly large body of work there, at least in romance terms. Superb artist. Honed his skills for you know what later down the road.
and buddy, no pink, and well, at least you know where the 6.0 lives now
Another great post Andy, and I'm not remotely surprised you own that beaut. I know I've seen a 3rd copy with those pink letters somewhere and it's going to bug me until I find out where.
Like you mentioned, the combination of high quality and low quantity make the Orbit romance books fun to collect. I'm sure the only way I'll ever get really nice copies though, is to luck into an ebay BIN.

Love Journal #15 with John Buscema cover. I usually get rid of my undercopies, but for some reason I'm compelled to hoard this issue. I cracked out a CGC 4.5 and 5.0 but there's a 6.0 out there somewhere that I'd like to free. If my memory isn't playing tricks on me, it has the same "Cb" (or is it "Ch"?) written in pink that my copies have.

Comics, Pulps, and Paperbacks: Why such a discrepancy in values?

I picked one up at Ikea a year or so ago that I'm happy with. I think it's called a "Billy" and it's a little over 6'-0 high with glass doors. I just took a couple pics of it with the right door open (because of glare). A couple shelves are set in place but I bought 2 (I think) extra shelves and was able to space them out to be able to get 8 rows of pb's. I counted one row and it has 66 in it. The shelves are about 10 1/4" deep.
