I know it won't happen, but I'd love for the mod that yanked that one post an explanation. This very same thing happened in one of another well known boardies threads and the thread was moved, they cleaned up the pictures and the thread went back. Lots of boardies, self included, missed out on books because they simply yanked the thread. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Real example, pricing a book 15% above what you paid for it, which just happened to be just a bit south of 15% above GPA and all in the span of 30 days on a site where there isn't any fees? Really? Some of the pricing is crazy. You just have to shake your head and move on. I've never been able to figure out if folks a) don't really want to sell or b) are just fishing for offers. You don't think a copper key deserves to be 1.25x GPA high cause the movie came out last weekend? No more than I think a modern 10.0 is worth $7500 because there may be a TV deal.

If you file the dispute through paypal, would they even know to scold you? The only risk is if they (paypal) can't recover the funds and you paid with something other than a cc/debit card. I had an instance where I paid with my paypal balance and never got the item. I filed the dispute, won, and still ended up not getting made whole. Paypal claimed that there were no funds to recover. It was only $70, but it taught me to transfer out my balance before paying anyone I didn't know.

Personally, if I made a mistake that was 6.25% of my bid I would suck it up and pay for the mistake I myself made. If the mistake was 62.5% I would probably beg forgiveness. The size of the error and the culpability for that error are two very key elements on to whom the expectation of magnanimous behavior rests. Putting it all on Jeff when it wasn't his error and the amount is a small amount of the overall bid seems misplaced. Also of note is the questionable nature of the use of "mistake" in this instance. It's one thing if the mistake were made by a buyer, no matter how small, and the buyer refused to honor or seller refused to let it go. However, when a "mistake" looks more like a "gosh, I really shouldn't have bid $425 when I could probably have taken this down for $400, so let me edit my post" rather than "did my phone just really post $425 when I typed $ 4 0 0", then the douchbag potential buyer should be called out on it.

The request to not edit is in the thread. The $425 bid is the equivalent to a shill bid for anyone who noticed it. As for your timing, it is also plenty of time for Joey to reply to my post and/or send me a PM prior to the end of the auction. Thanks for your input. I deleted the incorrect post, posted the correct bid (a minute later, and yes, my phone did it TWICE, so I deleted it twice) of $400. Then I went to bed. If you must know, I get up at 5AM for work, so seeing a post while I am sleeping was not happening. Also why I bid my top price I was willing to pay for either 1 1/2 hours BEFORE it ended. I've got to imagine with the quality control that CGC has, it's got to be really rare for a book to go out with the wrong label. No, people not understanding the limited edition version of this book. Yeah, lots of folks overlook the 5 limited as well.

I'm about to send in a nice lot if anyone is looking for registry points or upgrades. Included will be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 9 (all first prints) as well as the CFD calendar. All should grade 9.8. Also picked up a 7 limited and a 1 third print that should grade 9.8.
